Santa Anita
Race 2 No. 3 MANOFGOLD: Actually won this race at 9-1 beating the 3-2 chalk ridden by Joel Rosario. There was a drift out at the wire and a slight bump, but the chalk was never going to get by the winner ridden by apprentice Cedillo. There was no inquiry but Rosario fielded an objection. After a long look the steward made another wrong call taking the winner down. This same incident happened twice earlier in the meet and the stewards made no change. This result was politics as usual hurting a young rider trying to make a buck.
Race 7 No. 5 RUMOR: There was a little rumor going around the track that this filly could really run and that trainer Richard Mandella loved the way she had been working out. Well this daughter of Indian Charlie ran to her billing and destroyed this group of straight maiden 2yo fillies by almost seven lengths under a long hold late by jockey Bejarano. Look for big things in the future for this young filly.
Golden Gate
Race 6 No. 1 MO STEAM: Deep closer is in top form and a must use in the exotics. Always seems to go off at a nice price. He will be right there next time out once again. $$$
