LOS ALAMITOS TB/SANTA ANITA

CHAMPAGNE CHARLIE, TRIBAL FIGHTER: These two exit the same mile turf race. Charlie ran second when coming home fast, while Fighter finished third despite trouble early on when being steadied between horses on the first turn. We see both of these coming back at Santa Anita on the grass and they could finish first and second the next time around.

INTERROGATOR: Came here from back East and landed in the barn of William Morey. He promptly paid some dividends with a game win going five furlongs on the Del Mar grass. Will love going down the hill at Santa Anita, and jockey Kent Desormeaux fits this one like a glove.

DOMESTIC VINTAGE: Was six wide leaving the chute, four on the second turn and stayed that way into the stretch. Had to be steadied when crowded by the winner but still managed to get up for the place money. This filly is sitting on a monster effort. $$$$$

SUPREME GIANT: Was steadied when squeezed off at the start and that cost this one his best shot. He saved ground but had to be steadied again off heels in upper stretch when making a late run. Angled in for room and still came on to pick up the show dough. Look for this one in the winner’s circle next time out with a clean trip at this $32k maiden claiming level going long.

MRS. NORRIS: Took some action in this 1-1/8 turf route but had to make a six-wide run into the stretch and just could not run down the lone speed, who had gotten away. She is sitting on the win and will be a solid play next time out going long on the Santa Anita grass. $$$

GLACIER: Was in from Churchill Downs for Bob Baffert and had a horrible trip in this mile turf race for straight maidens. That said, he just missed the place by a head and should pop next time out with a good trip.

TIME FOR EBBY: Has the right style for Los Al if she finds a spot there for starter allowance runners going a mile on the dirt. If so we will be singling her in the picks. $$$
