POINT PIPER: Finished second, way back and in another galaxy, behind the great California Chrome in the Winter Challenge at Los Alamitos TB, a race that was designed to give the Chrome a prep before his big one next month. This was a great money maker for all 10 runners in here as it was set up that 6th thru 10th each got $10k. The winner got $50k, second $30k, 3rd $20k, 4th and 5th $15k, so why not run.
ILIAD: Ran his eyeballs out in this very easy maiden win when drawing away late to win for fun. He looks to have a ton of upside and will love going a mile next out versus winners. We say he repeats. $$$
KIMBEAR: Was stuck on the far outside in this 11 horse field but ran a big time race when finishing second behind ILIAD and more than three lengths clear of the rest. Looks set for the maiden score next out.
LORD SIMBA: Finished second behind his stablemate Americanize, who won for fun as a first time gelding. Lord Simba had some big works coming into this six furlong race and ran his race finishing second, five lengths clear of the rest. Will be a perfect single next time out.
GIO’S LADY: Looks to have found her level at this $30k maiden claimer. She ran well in this mile race just missing the place by a neck. The move to Santa Anita will get her the maiden win next time out.
VODKA TEXTED YOU: Love the way this gelding broke his maiden last out for a $20k price tag. He should be able to handle starter allowance types next out and could go 7 furlongs to a flat mile.
