FAIRPLEX/SANTA ANITA (opens Sept. 30)

GREAT RAID: Is just sitting on the maiden breaker, in his last at Fariplex he got stuck down on the inside but split horses into the stretch and surged late on the outside, missing by less than a length while more than nine lengths clear of the rest.

CITIZENS BRIGADE: Was being dropped like a hot potato by trainer Mike Mitchell after running back-to-back good races against much better, he won for fun for this 5k price tag at odds on. He was claimed by Jeff Mullins and it will be interesting to see where this one shows up next if he does.

THAT OF’BLACKMAGIC: First time starter was well bet at the windows in this 32k maiden claimer but he never did get untracked running a dull fifth but he did get claimed by a sharp outfit so look for better in his next start.

ASHLEY’S KITTY: Looked good winning the Bangles And Beads and will be a hard Mare to beat at Santa Anita.

GOLDEN GATE FIELDS

GOLD CATEGORY: Looked to be making a winning move from mid pack but ran into traffic and was checked hard and had to angle six wide into the stretch, he got going once again and just stormed home missing by a neck. He was best in here and will be one tough cookie in his next start. $$$$$

TIGER ON THE PROWL: This race came off the grass but Tiger stayed in, he looked beat turning for home but made a big wide move down the lane and somehow just surged to the front and won going away in what was a big time effort for a $12,500 claimer, look for this guy on the grass and just send it in. $$$$$

SEEKING THE QUEEN: First time starter out of the Lloyd Mason barn just cruised to the front under jockey C Russell who has been riding great for Mason and just went wire-to-wire while being geared down late in what was a huge effort, look for the move up and repeat but doubt you will get the $18.80 he paid today.

SQUIRE TRELAWNY: Came home with a strong late rally at almost 9/1 and he just did miss while one of three on the line, next time and the price will be right.

PUNCH UP: Raced in reserve with the winner to the turn but than took back and let the winner go, he then came widest of all into the stretch and finished like a rocket just missing by a neck.

PHANTOM ALI: This mare won so easy in this mile on the grass just crushing them by seven lengths, she can move up and score again as this girl is in great form.

COMEDY SPECIAL: Really did not get a very good ride and would upgrade his chances next time out if he gets a rider change.
