EVITA’S CROWN: Was a hot first time starter for trainer Vann Belvoir. This filly hopped and was steadied in a slow start. She went to the outside, but had to be steadied again into the turn when running up horses heels in front of her. Switched to the inside and stormed home to get the win by a nostril in a big time performance.

MISS GEORGIE GIRL: This filly is a runner and was best in this race. Had a horrible trip when having to pull up when stuck behind horses turning for home. Was switched out and had to be checked again in upper stretch. Split horses on the line, but lost the bob in a three-way photo finish.

WAR ELEMENT: I was very anxious to see this gelding come back, but looked for him to return on the grass. Instead, he freaked, flying by his foes turning for home like they were standing. Won going away by more than eight lengths while being geared down. This guy looks big time for trainer Carla Gaines. $$$$$

CHOKECHERYMARY: Filly who has appeared on our HTW list in the past. Was trying the grass for the first time and took to it like a duck to water. Stormed home to crush her rivals by three lengths. Look for Gary Mandella to keep her routing on the grass as this really looks like her game.

WARREN’S SWAP FOX: Had 1 post in this six furlong sprint for 8k claimers. She had a good position down on the inside but jockey Rosario took her completely out of the race when dropping back to next to last in this 12 horse field. Switched her to the outside turning for home and had to make a seven wide run down the lane. He wasn’t on Zenyatta and this girl had to settle for third.

HOLLADAY ROAD: Front runner who had just beat the likes of these wire-to-wire. Was taken back to next to last by Rosario in another questionable decision. He did make up some ground late to finish fourth a length behind the winner. I’d like to know did he not try and go to the front end?

TOLUCA: Nice maiden breaker in her last start despite trouble. This filly looks to be coming around for Jeff Mullins. Could move up and win versus winners.

THISISMYSTAGE: This girl is bred in the purple for the grass and looks to be just learning the game. Ran a better than looked race when encountering trouble on the second turn. If she can find some pace next time out she will pop at a nice price. $$$

JOE CARL: Stretch runner made a nice run when coming from last to second in this mile race. Broke from 10 post despite his jock having him all over the track and then losing his whip a sixteenth out. Was claimed by trainer Hess and looks like a nice pick up for 16k.

HONOR AMONG US: A little rough in the early going when breaking sharp. Jockey Gryder took him back, then let him loose a half mile out and won for fun. Looks like a repeater.

LOUGH DERG: Looks to be coming around on the grass for trainer Mason. This filly could be a real nice price play next time out. LONG SHOT SPECIAL.
