SUNS OUT: Carla Gaines first time starter took to this dirt course like a duck to water. He stormed home on his own as jockey Gomez had the whip turned down. Won by more than five lengths while under a long hold late. Looked like he could circle the course again.

IRISH ART: Ran huge coming out of the 10 post in this mile turf race as he tracked from the bell. Was between horses in deep stretch and went willingly till the end losing by a half length. This guy will be hard to deny next time out. $$$

YOUR SPECIAL DAY: First time starter out if the James Cassidy barn who also happened to be part owner. Was ridden by jockey Mike Smith who has been picking his rides very carefully. When he rides a 30k first time starter you must take notice. This girl won for fun at 16-1. On our watch list as she could repeat going long next time out.

KELLY LEAK: I like this horse sprinting on the grass and he would have been right there except for getting squeezed out at the start. Had to be steadied hard and was far back. Made a nice late run picking up the fourth spot, just missing the show dough by a neck. Will get there with an outside post next time out going down the hill.

SPANIARD: Bob Baffert comebacker showed big early speed as he battled tooth and nail from the bell. He looked to be collared when down on the inside, but put it into another gear and powered away to win by more than three lengths under jockey Bejarano’s tight hold at the wire. This guy will come back and repeat as he moves up the ladder. $$$$$

MRS MAYOR: 20k maiden ran a winning race, but just could not hold off the 9-5 chalk. Lost by ¾ of a length while almost 8 clear of the rest. This filly was claimed for the 20k and may turn out to be a good pick up.

EL SAINO: It pays to pick up your GT on Tuesday mornings at your favorite race and sports book and having a subscription when you can get horses like El Saino. He stormed home at 22-1 to win going away, paying $46.60. We will keep him on our list. Depend on him for that big late run.

I AM THOR: Was close up in the early going in this 1 1/8 turf route. Looked to be making his run, but got fanned four wide on the second turn and lost several positions. Made another rally to finish third, missing the place by a neck and the win by a length. $$$

SUMMER SUNSHINE: Was in traffic in the early going and remained in a tough spot till the second turn. His jockey moved down on the inside for some clear sailing. Stormed home at 34-1 only to miss by a nostril in what was a nice race. This guy will be a nice price play next time out with the low profile Harvey in the irons.

NUANCE OF SUANCE: Was listed at 12-1 on the morning line off the layoff for trainer Moger, but was bet like a good thing going off at 7-2 at post time. Made a five wide run and looked to be right there but had to settle for fourth. With this race under his belt look for him to keep running next time out. $$$

COUNT IT ALL: Had a very tough trip in this mile turf race being bumped and steadied on the first turn. He did recover but had to settle for fourth. Jerry Hollendorfer put up the $6,250 for the claim and retained part ownership.
