NORTH FORK: Was steadied when in tight and then was steadied once again when in tight midway on the backstretch. Split horses into the stretch and held second. Looks to be rounding into form and has found his level right now.

CAPITAL PLAY: Trainer Jerry Hollendorfer was sending this girl 1 1/4 in this her fifth lifetime start and she won clear at the end despite lugging in the final quarter. Looks to be a real up and comer in these long turf routes if she can stay straight down the lane.

SMART SPENDING: This lightly raced 4yo gelding trained by Carla Gaines had won two of his three starts and was last seen winning here in February. Was let go at 7-1 and broke dead last. Made up ground on the inside in this 7 furlong race, but jockey Espinoza steadied him when running up heels leaving the turn and that cost him the race. Came on with a strong late run finishing third beaten a neck.

SKINNY GENES: Trainer Vann Belvoir has been bringing in some live runners and this was one who shipped in from Emerald Downs. This filly stormed home down the lane in this mile turf race to win going away. It looked as if she could go around again. Let’s hope Vann brings her back quick. She will not be 12-1 next time around but may be a nice price and good play. $$$$$

NEARLY WAS MINE: Looked all the winner in this 20k maiden claimer, but he was bumped hard at the start and had his rider Victor Espinoza lose an iron in the early going. Was last and looked hopelessly beaten. Moved up on the second turn but Victor got him in trouble and had to wait for room into the lane. Once clear he surged late to run second losing by less than a length in a race he was much the best.

SEEK THE LIGHT: Was in from Monmouth Park for trainer Peter Eurton and was bet down to even money. Ran his race, but had no shot at running down the winner who stole away to an easy lead. If able to find some pace next time out he will win. Looks like a good single.

TWIN SIX: First time starter for trainer Carla Gaines was steadied hard in an awkward start and stood tenth in this 11 horse field until the top of the lane. Found his best stride late to finish a fast closing fifth. This guy is a runner and could pop at a nice price next time out going long on the grass. Long shot special. $$$

ALL THE LOVE: Was trying the grass for the first time and put in a super effort running second when closing late. She is in good form and looks ready for a winning run next time out turf or dirt.

MILYONE: Just got a horrible trip as he was ready to make what looked to be a winning move from the rail. Got boxed in and had to be taken hold. Switched to the outside for some running room but could not respond after the incident. I will be all over this guy next time out with a jockey change.

LEGAL VICTORY: Was wide most of the race and then ran into traffic reaching the stretch. Once clear he came running late to pick up the place money at 351 in a huge effort. He will be a nice price.
