BODEMEISTER: First time starter for trainer Bob Baffert was coming out of the 10 post. He prompted the pace set by the lone speed, but just could not get to that one. Was a clear second in this 10 horse field more than five lengths in front of the third place finisher. This one will be a solid single next time out.

I SENSE YOUR LUCK: Had no luck in this 16k claimer as she stumbled badly at the start. She recovered but was taken off the pace and made a nice late run to get the show dough. Look for this filly to get the win next time out with a clean break.

SUBPOENA THE DRESS: Really never got untracked today in this 16k claimer, but it is interesting that trainer Mike Mitchell who lost this girl for 10k last August at Del Mar claimed her back for $12,500. Mike makes few mistakes at the claim box so look for a big turnaround next time out.

SIDEPOCKET KID: Looks to be sitting on the win and should have gotten it today, but the jockey had him all over the track. He just did fail to get up by a dwindling neck.

WAR POLITICS: 30k maiden looks to be putting it all together and may have been best in this race but got caught five wide into the turn. Stayed wide for the drive and was picking them up with every stride to finish third beaten by a half length.

MACK’S GOLD BULLET: Trainer Vann Belvoir lost this one for 10k one race back and re-claimed him for $12,500. Look for the money run next time out. Keep an eye open at the Gate as Belvoir could ship him up North.

CHA CHA LATTE: Was our single at and she was let go at 9/2. This filly hopped in the air at the start, was far back and looked to have little or no chance. Made a four wide run and just mowed them down to win going away.

MIDNIGHT TRANSFER: Was exiting our HTW list. This colt looked to have a good spot when moving up along the inside in the San Pedro, but got squeezed back. That looked like the race for him, but he swung to the outside turning for home and made an explosive late run to get up for the huge win in the race of the week. We will keep him on our list. $$$$$

LADY TEN: First time starter had to be steadied off heels on the first turn and sat back until the half mile. She unleashed a big late run to be a clear second. This filly can flat out run and will be hard to beat next time out going long.

SMART HOMBRE: This 20k maiden battled tooth and nail from the bell in this 6 ½ furlong race and just did fail to hold. If he can clear early next time out look for this one to be long gone.

PEPNIC: First time starter was let go at 67-1 and ran a huge race just failing to catch the even money Baze runner. Look for another long price next time out and he could pop.

FIRE WISE: Was the hot horse in this race and looked to have it won when making a big four wide run to get to the front. Was run down late, but no mistakes for her next time out for the new connections. $$$
