MY JOYCIE: Comebacker was bumped at the start and took back to last. She started to make her rally, but got fanned five wide and somehow freaked. Then she surged to the front with a powerful burst of speed to win with ease under a snug hold on the line by jockey Brice Blanc. This filly woke up big time on the dirt and could come right back at another big price and win.

BELLE PASSE: Was making her first start in the US and looked to have some class about her. Was in a real tough race going down the hill after hesitating and starting last in this 12 horse field. Jockey Rosario did not panic and made her run in upper stretch. Somehow got up for the big win. This race was just loaded with talent.

MISS COMMUNICATION: Is the first of several exiting the above mentioned race. This girl may have been best, but had to be checked off heels when lacking room crossing over to the dirt course. Came out in upper stretch, but was between horses and just missed win by a head in a very game effort. She will be single material next time out going down the hill. $$$$$

Note: Others To Watch Out Of The Race: Dubai Cyclone, Sydney’s Darling, Enchanted Dreams And My Sweet Candy.

ACAFFELLA: Was getting his second start off the layoff and ran a winning race despite the poor ride by Espinoza that cost him the win. Finished a very game second and will be very hard to beat going long on the grass third off the layoff. $$$

FIDDLERS AFLEET: Fairgrounds invader put in a very game effort when battling on the front end gate to wire in this 1 1/16 route. He got run down late by the 7-5 chalk, but was a clear second in this 11-horse field. If able to clear early next time out he will go wire-to-wire.

TIZ A TRIP: Lightly raced colt was exiting our HTW list and just won with the greatest of ease paying $6.80. He looked just great on the track and should be able to come right back and repeat against winners. We will keep him on our list.

FORDHAM ROAD: Put in another good effort but had the misfortune of meeting up with Tiz A Trip, finishing second. He is sitting on the maiden breaker.

DEATH STAR: Was the hot horse in the mile race on the grass his second start and first going long. Sat far back, but made a nice late run just missing the place.

CLOSE TO THE EDGE: Hadn’t been out since last September at Fairplex. He took some action in here and just blitzed these horses wire to wire winning going away at the end. Mike Smith had a long hold on him down the lane and had plenty of gas left in the tank. Looked like he could go around again. $$$

PANDA BAI: First time starter looked like she had a big shot at the top of the stretch, but did not go on and finished fourth. She may not stop next time out. We will be betting.

CLASSIC CRUSADER: Sat back in this 20k maiden claimer, but when he was ready made a quick move and won going away. He could come right back and repeat in a starter allowance race.

SCANTILY CLAD: Has found a home here at Golden Gate with back to back scores. Looks like she will come back for the hat trick.
