STARRY SKIES: Marty Jones first time starter was steadied in an awkward beginning and was far back in this 6 ½ furlong down hill turf sprint. Was six wide into the stretch and stormed home for the win going away under a Rosario hand ride in a remarkable effort. $$$

LAKE MARACAIBO: Bill Spawr first time starter just got hammered at the windows at 15-1 morning line down to 5-2 by post time. She ran a winning race, but could not catch the speed late. Missed by a half length while gaining with every stride late. This filly will be a good single next time out. $$$

INDUSTRY LEADER: Just an amazing race this guy ran as he stumbled badly at the start. Was four wide on the turn and five abreast into the stretch. Came strong down the lane to miss by a slim nostril on the bob.

LUCKY RAVE: You took a bad beat with a bet on this guy in his last race. He was much the best, but got caught wide on the turn and four wide into the stretch when between horses. He lunged late, but missed by a slim nose on the line.

DANI’S SIS: Had a slow start and then she really wanted to run, pulling her jockey out of the saddle. He took hold, steadied hard between horses and yanked her back when crowded into the stretch. Lost her shot, but still was running late picking up the show dough in a real good effort despite all the trouble.

BABY BLAKE: Was coming off a little layoff and showed high speed at 9-1 odds. He kicked clear down the lane, but could not hold off the 8-5 chalk. Still, finished well clear of the rest.

JAY’S FIRETRUCK: John Sadler comebacker ran huge in defeat being one of four heads on the line in this 1 1/16 route for 30k maiden claimers. He looks ready to pop next time out and the price may still be a good one.

BRUNO’S WAGER: Was back in town after a little trip down South. He likes this Golden Gate track and ran another big race finishing second behind the lone speed. If he gets any pace to run at next time out he will win. $$$

CAMELSOUL: Tim McCanna comebacker was last seen at Emerald Downs last August, but came back running here when closing like a freight train finishing full of run. She will be one tough cookie next time out. $$$
