SEQUOIA WARRIOR: Was last seen running at Gulfstream Park when under the care of trainer Dale Romans last March. This 4yo colt surfaced here for trainer Bob Baffert and just ran a big time race, but could not get by the lone speed down the lane. This race was just what he needed off the long layoff. Will be hard to beat next time out.

DR.NIP: First time starter was between horses in the early going. Went wide on the turn and four wide into the stretch. Made a nice try just missing the place money by a half a length. He was claimed by the hot Doug O’Neill. Look for Doug to get a quick return on his 30k investment next time out at Hollywood.

NOBLE KENT: Looked ready to win but caught a sloppy sealed track. He looked like the winner down them, lane just got run down late by a horse who loved the slop. He was more than 17 lengths clear of the rest. Yes 17! Will make no mistakes next time out.

CALLED TO SERVE: Trainer Peter Eurton, who may be in a Bob Baffert disguise, has won with something like 10 straight runners including this gelding. Blitzed the crew of straight maidens going 1 1/16 by more than three lengths. Had a lot left in the tank. Look for a quick return at Hollywood and a big run against winners.

CHICKIE CHARMS: Another Eurton winner and again going away by more than five lengths from the tough 1 post. I really like the three horses that finished behind Chickie and believe that this could end up being a key race. Second place CORINTHIAN’S SONG, a first time starter, made a big four wide run finishing well. Third place comebacker TORUK MAKTO ran a better than looked race off the layoff. Fourth place FABLE HAVEN was looking for the grass as this was scheduled to go down the hill. Was caught very wide the entire trip. We will look for him on the Hollywood 6 furlong turf course. Put all four on you HTW list. $$$$

MELISSA ROSE: Was getting her first start off the Sadler claim. She ran huge missing by a half length to the Baffert .40 cents on the dollar odds-on chalk. Will be hard to beat next time out and could be a solid single.

CLUBHOUSE RIDE: Absolutely big effort going down the hill losing by a half length to the odds on speed in here. This guy is back in top form and will go well on the 6 furlong Hollywood turf course.

THEY CALL HIM EL: Was in from Santa Anita for trainer Morey who was looking for a turf race but it came off the grass. He was left in and came from last to first in one quick turn of foot winning going away with a four wide move. He will repeat. $$$$$
