BANANA SPLIT: After being eased in her one and only start she came back in this 20k maiden claimer and just ran their socks off. Won going away by almost three lengths paying $106.60. These type have a way of coming back to run big again at another big price.

TIZ FINAL: Took a big shot with this filly at more than 50-1. Had a ton of run in here, but took up when caught down on the rail with no place to go. She really wanted to run, but had to wait for room and none developed. Switched to the outside, but the winner got the jump on her. Settled for second paying $36.60 for the place.

TIZ A DAISY: First time starter out of the Mary Jones barn ran a better than looked race. She broke slow, but continued to make a nice late rally checking off heels in deep stretch to finish a clear third.

BERTRAN HILL: Was coming off the layoff for trainer Cerin and going 6 furlongs on the Hollywood grass. He ran a nice even race. Will be cranked up for the money run next time out on this turf course. A good single at what will be a good price. $$$

ITALIAN RULES: This is one tough nut of a 7yo as he has run first or second in his last 9 races. Had no shot in here against the winner, who just freaked as he exploded down the lane. Won going away by more than 7 lengths, but again ran his race to get up for the place. Trainer John Sadler has a real money maker with this horse.

BODAWAY: 2yo first time starter just had a horrible trip and could have packed it in but just kept running. Finished second, beaten by ½ a length. Will be very hard to beat next time out.

CASTLETOWN: Just ran huge at almost 22-1 finishing a game second after ducking in and losing the jockey in his first start at Santa Anita back in February. Chantal Sutherland looks to be taking full advantage of her limited mounts and is a jockey to follow at a price.

KINTLA JOURNEY: Just won at .30 cents on the dollar. She was claimed by a top outfit so look for the move up and repeat at a better price. Single material in the picks.

GAMBLING MISS: First time starter was going a mile on the grass. Ran a super second despite being crowded and checking at the start. This filly will be a good bet next time out. $$$$$

ANGI’S WILD CAT: Battled tooth and nail the entire 6 furlongs in this allowance race. Just failed to hold. Good next time out, if able to clear.
