VIVA CARINA: First time starter was sent off at 20-1 and really ran a professional race. He stalked the early pace and ran with determination to get the victory beating a pretty good field. This filly could come right back and repeat at another big price.

MY FRIEND GAIL: Was in from Lone Star for trainer Dallas Keene and really ran a good race despite having to check off heels leaving the second turn. Had to swing out for room into the stretch angling out further on midstretch, but kept to her task and finished a game third.

MAKER OR BREAKER: Bob Baffert first-time starter hopped in a slow start and was far back when squeezed back to last. Made a big four wide move into the stretch and came home strong to beat her stable mate by a neck. This filly looks like a serious racehorse! $$$$$

BOBBY ZAPPER: Was coming off the layoff for Baffert and would have won except for the presence of her stable mate Maker Or Breaker. She will be very hard to beat next time out. A solid single in the picks. $$$

VIA VERDE: Had this old pro singled in my pick five, but he had a horrible trip being steadied. Switched out for room, but was blocked off heels in upper stretch. Came out again for room and closed fast to place third, beaten a half length for the win in a race he was best.

TRIBE: First time starter for trainer Vann Belvoir took plenty of action. He ran a winning race, but could not run down the lone 9/5 chalk who went wire to wire. He was almost three lengths better than the rest of this 10 horse field.

BOLLER BOMB: First time starter ran her heart out despite a slow start and a wide trip. Finished a good second behind the even money lone speed. This filly can run and will be hard to beat when the distances get a little longer.

KOKO LOCA: Was in from Churchill Downs. Ran a bang up clear third in this race, despite being blocked and steadied down the lane. Will be another who will be hard to beat next time out with a clean trip.

DOYOUSEEMECOMING: Just had a horrible trip as he was close up early, but had to wait off heels losing several positions and having to drop back. Came on to finish a good third. Look for a jockey change next time out. If so, we will bet.

CHASIN PERFECTION: Was far back in the early going and completely out of this 1 1/16 turf race. This may have been a little prep for her next start. We will be on this girl at a big price next time out. $$$
