PLANET SUNSHINE: Lost by a nostril after having to check off heels leaving the turn and then splitting horses past mid-stretch and again at the wire. A great try and heartbreaking loss.

NOT MY TAP: First time starter ran a big race in what was a very tough group of straight maiden fillies. With this race under her belt she will be one tough filly to beat next time out. $$$

MIDNIGHT RAVEN: Was making his first start off the layoff for trainer Peter Eurton. Broke slow and was crowded, but he settled very comfortable while down on the inside. Really got going down the lane and came home like a freight train missing by a dwindling head to the even money favorite in what was a huge effort. $$$$$

IMWITHTHEBLONDE: John Sadler first time starter would have won on any other day as she had to meet up with her stable-mate the 8/5 chalk who ran her down in the stretch. She did finish second more than eight lengths clear of the rest. Will be mighty tough to catch next time out.

KEVIN’S KOOL KAT: Chased the pace, while five wide and then four leaving the backstretch. She continued her outside run but had to be steadied hard off heels into the stretch. That cost her along with the side trip any shot she had and settled for the show dough. Look for this filly to get the job done with a better trip next time out. $$$$$

SHRILANKA: First time starter was going a mile on the grass – not an easy task for a first timer. She broke slow and was far back but made a big late run just missing the show dough by a half length. This filly can run and won’t be a maiden for long.

VALLEY CAT: Made a big late five wide run and was coming fast, but had too much ground to make up late. He was claimed out of this effort and should come right back with a big try. A must use in the exotics next time out.

SURREY STAR: Was best in here, but blocked off heels down the lane. Came out for room and split horses just missing on the line. $$$

CABALLO DEL CIELO: Was one live item in this race. He sped to the early lead and looked home down the lane but was caught late. Ran a winning race and will be very hard to chase down next time out.
