GHOST OF A CHANCE: Bobbled at the start, broke out and then was forced out even more. She made a big run splitting horses in midstretch just missing the place by a half length while more than four lengths clear of the fourth place finisher in a very game try.

MALIBU KNIGHT: Bobbled and squeezed back at the start losing all shot. He was dead last until the top of the stretch and caught his best stride late but was really coming on with good energy. This one will be hard to beat with a clean start next time out.

LADY TEN: The filly looks like the future big gun in the Baffert barn for the BC filly division. This was an amazing win in the Sandy Blue Handicap battling tooth and nail the entire mile distance getting passed and fighting back to get the win, she is big time. $$$$$

MR. MAKE BELIEVE: Just watching Gomez ride some of these horse makes you wonder as he puts them in some bad positions. He seems to always want to come widest and that’s what happened with this gelding. Hopefully trainer Mandella will put on a new hustling jock next time out. If so we will bet.

NEXTDOORNEIGHBOR: Gomez got a rare ride for Baffert on this one and it was just another butcher job. This guy is just sitting on a win but needs the trip and did not get it here. Let’s see if Mr. B does the switch next time out. If so we will be betting.

TIZ A MINISTER: Was just pulling jockey Iggy Puglisi out of the saddle as this one really wanted to run. He got in trouble in midstretch when getting in tight as the Igg had his hands full. Got clear and surged late for the place. Ready to win but needs to relax.

WINDING WAY: Trainer Carla Gaines who loves to win here at Del Mar really had this filly ready for the Ranch Bernardo Handicap. This filly turned her head at the start, hopped and was away far behind the field. Jockey Bejarano did not panic as he settled her off the rail and let her run at the half mile pole. Ran them down late in what was a big time performance.

I RUN FOR FUN: Was not running for fun today winning in amazing style despite getting squeezed back at the start to look hopelessly beaten. He came flying late to win going away and should find a good spot for a repeat win next time out. $$$

AUNT EMMA: Trainer Alex Paszkeicz put a big stamina mile work into this filly eight days before this race. She was ready to run, but just could not chase down the 2/1 chalk. A must use next time out going long on the grass in the exotics. $$$

KOBY JO: Trainer Lloyd Mason looks to be sitting on a big meet. This filly was ready to run winning for fun and paying $15.40. She will come back and repeat. $$$
