LOVE AND PRIDE: Todd Pletcher filly shipped in from New York to run in the Breeders’ Cup Grade I Zenyatta. And she ran! Won in spectacular style wire-to-wire under a hand ride, drawing away by more than three lengths. Will be very hard to handle on this surface in the Breeders’ Cup Ladies’ Classic.

POWER BROKER: Baffert trainee in Frontrunner at Anita really showed a fondness to this surface. Tracked the pace from the outside post and just exploded down the lane drawing away under jockey Rafael Bejarano by more than six lengths. He will be one tough cookie in the BC. Set to run in the Juvenile turf, but that could change with this race under his belt.

CHARM THE MAKER: Ran a very game second in the Unzip Me Stakes going down the hill for trainer Ron McAnally. Lost by half a length behind the chalk despite breaking slow and being crowded. This filly will be very hard to beat next time out on this course. $$$$$.

STARRY SKIES: Just got a horrible ride by jockey Garrett Gomez, who took her completely out of the race. Ran next to last in this 12 horse field until the top of the lane and then made his usual late run, finishing a close third. This filly needs to be closer to the early pace. Maybe trainer Marty Jones gave her a little talking to after the race.

MARCYJANE: First time starter out of the Marty Jones barn ran a better than looked race in this 6½ furlong downhill sprint on the grass. Finished a close fourth just missing the show dough by a head. This filly can run and will be a nice price play next time out, but needs a better trip than the one she got in this race.

SWISS EMPEROR: A 20K claimer who is usually on the front end. Could not get the lead, but tracked in second and got to the front turning for home. Just failed to last, being one of the three heads on the line at 17-1. If able to clear early in his next start, he will be gone.

CIRCA’SGOLDENGEAR: Really looked good winning this downhill turf sprint going away. Will come back very soon and repeat. A solid single in the picks.

JUMEIMA: Ran a much better than looked race in this straight maiden sprint at 42-1. Could come back and pop at a very big price. We will be using in all exotics looking for a big payoff!

GOD OF WAR: Was getting his first start off the John Sadler claim and ran big in here at 5-1. He is in top form. Could come back and repeat.

FIFTYSHADESOFHAY: Had no shot against the runaway winner, but ran a big race to just miss the place by a neck. She is ready to win next out.

A LITTLE LUCKIER: Needs to get a little luckier next time out as she had none in this race. Jockey Gryder had her in a good spot, but dropped her back and moved to the outside. Moved her out further in midstretch and closed fast. Missed by a half length in a race she may have been best.
