SANTA ANITA

STORM FIGHTER: First time starter broke slow, but got going late to be a clear fourth in this 10 horse field. He runs like a router and if stretched out next time we will play.

VALERIA: Ran huge in defeat as one of three fillies on the line losing by a head despite a wide trip. With a better trip next time out she gets the win going long on the grass.

TRIBAL SPY: Bobbled at the start and was dead last in this 11 horse field going 5½ furlongs. We will give this filly a big shot to rebound next time out.

HEIR KITTY: Jockey Gomez in one of his non-rides just had this filly way too far back. When she really wanted to be let loose he got her stuck behind horses in upper stretch and got caught off heels nearing the wire. Finished a much better than looked fifth, beaten by a length for the whole enchilada. With a clean trip she gets the win next time out going long on the grass. $$$$$

SHES EXCEPTIONAL: First time starter took plenty of action in this 20k maiden claimer, but was far back in the early going and could not make up the necessary ground. She will go much better next time out.

TRAPPERS BOUNTY: Broke in the air and was off last in this 6 furlong sprint. She settled down on the inside but had to be steadied hard off heels nearing the turn. Swung out and finished fast to pick up the place money in a real good effort despite all the trouble. $$$

CIRCLE THE MOON: Was coming off a 10 month layoff, but trainer Bruce Headley put two nice 7 furlong works into her. She ran huge at 16-to-1 just getting caught at the wire by the 5-2 chalk. We will give her a big look next time out.

GOLDENCENTS: As we start the Kentucky Derby trail this colt looks to give trainer Doug O’Neill a big shot at getting to Churchill Downs on that first Saturday in May. Really like the fact that Doug keeps the low profile Kevin Krigger on board just like he did with I’ll Have Another last year.

SECRETSATMIDNIGHT: First time Baffert colt broke slow and was dead last, but made up good ground late. Will appreciate a longer trip next time out.

NONNA REESE: Was hot on the board in this race and came flying late, but the 2-1 winner had already snuck away. She will be hard to beat next time out.

CUPIDS BLING: Likes this dirt course, but had a goofy trip last time out. We will use her in the exotics at a good price when she returns here at Santa Anita.

GOLDEN GATE

STORMY RANDIE: Shipped in from Hollywood and ran a winning race, but could not chase down the lone speed. Did finish second, more than seven lengths clear of the rest. She will be a solid single next time.

TASYA: Had a horrible trip last time out and will win in her next start with a better ride. $$$$$

EVAN ALRIGHTY: Was best in her last, but was forced to go five wide into the lane finishing third losing by a half length.
