SAY OW: Was going long for the first time, but was forced wide into the first turn and that cost him. He then had to come four wide into the stretch, but finished like a winner coming up a half-length short in a race he may have been best.

FOLLINI: First time starter for trainer Mark Glatt was well prepared for this race. She was 7/2 on the morning line, but was bet down to the 2/1 co-favorite. Showed big early speed battling head to head and putting away the other speed. Barely failed holding off the other 2-1 colt in here, but was more than five lengths clear of the rest. $$$$$

KYRIAKI: Ran a very interesting race in this 1 1/8 turf route for straight maiden 3yo fillies. She broke fast and battled on the front end for the first quarter mile. Jockey Bejarano took her back to fifth, then rallied into the stretch and got up for the big win. She could come right back and score.

SHOWGIRL FORM: First time starter going 1 1/8 on the grass ran huge after being steadied when crowded midway on the second turn. She came out into the stretch and make a big late run losing by less than a length. $$$

AMERCAN BLEND: Was bumped hard at the start and looked out of the race. He composed himself and made a nice last run finishing second. A mile may this one’s perfect distance.

ZACKN’MAT: Was exiting our HTW list and looked to have a big say in here, but had to go five wide into the stretch. Came strong to finish a close third. We will keep him on our list.

RIO HONDO: Richard Mandella first time starter going a flat mile on the dirt broke slow and was last till the ¾ pole. He launched his big late run finishing a good second behind the 9/5 chalk. Will be hard to beat next time.

DARK RED: Took some action in this race, but had a horrible trip. Just toss this race and give him another shot next time out at what will be a big price.

KEY DECISION: Fits with these and had an interesting race in this 1 1/8 turf route, he is in good form and could pop next time out.

THUNDER COLE: First time starter really never got into this 6 ½ furlong downhill turf sprint. Looks like he wants to go long. If we see him on the stretch out next time we will be playing.

STORMY TRIP: Live first time starter could not handle the odds on winner, but was five lengths clear of the rest. Will be a solid single next time out.

ALEXANDER’S BAND: Ran big first out of the box and will be very hard to beat next time out. $$$
