UPBEAT MOOD: Would have won on most days going down the hill off the layoff. There was a live French shipper in here getting first time Lasix and she nailed Upbeat Mood on the wire. Upbeat Mood will be very hard to beat next time out sprinting on the grass.
CONSURGO: Big Mike Mitchell colt ran big but just failed to run down the odds-on colt Footbridge in this mile race. Consurgo looks to have huge talent and will be ready to explode next time out going long. He will be a very good single in the picks. $$$$$
TEMPTRESS: Battled tooth and nail from the bell in this mile race but could not hold off the two favorites. Was a solid third. If able to clear next time out this filly will be gone gone gone. $$$
ESENTEPE: Filly was in from France for trainer Jerry Hollendorfer. She was well bet going off as the 3/2 favorite in this very tough field so the connections must think she is a runner. She may need a mile. If so we will be betting next time out.
SONG OF A WITCH: Showed good early speed but Kayla Stra took this filly back off a hot pace. She stayed on the inside and then made her run from the inside bulling her way through tight quarters. Got the big win at 55/1. This filly could come back and run big at another big price.
CHINESE PRAISE: Is just sitting on the win at this 10k claiming level but needs a solid pace upfront to set up his late run. He is in good form and is a must use in the exotics. $$$
MORENO’S MINE: Was last seen running up the track at Del Mar last August. He was spotted for action off the long layoff and took plenty of action as he was sent off as the second favorite behind the odds on horse who finished behind him. Ran a bang up second and was catching the winner late but ran out of ground. He will be very hard to beat next time out.
HARD BUNS: Ran a much better than looked fourth going down the hill last time out. She is in good form and could strike at a price in the very near future for trainer Tim Yakteen.
MYSTICAL MARK: Looked to have a big shot in this six furlong starter allowance sprint but ran up behind a wall of horses. When he looked to be making a winning move was checked hard and had to shift out. Came home strong late but was too late, just missing the place by a nostril. $$$
