ELLE CEE DEE: Sometimes you just got to follow the money, and that was the case with this filly coming in from Turf Paradise. She was listed at 5/1 on the morning line and just kept taking the money going off as the second choice at 2/1. She sprung the gate, cruised to an easy lead and stormed down the lane, winning by more than five lengths. We will bet her back.
LEOTHELION: This will be a good one to bet in August! This guy was coming off a long layoff but was taking action. He looked set to pounce from down on the inside and had plenty of room to go through. Jockey David Flores wanted no part of the rail so he swung out losing at least two lengths. He then circled horses, just missing the show by a head in what was a suspect ride. We will give this one a big shot next time out.
ATTICUS JACK: Looked to be a solid bet in this downhill turf sprint at 5/1. He ran his race and was gaining on the winner with every stride. Jack lost by a dwindling half length and was past him after the finish. This one is in good form and only needs a good pace up front to get the win. $$$
DANCE TEAM: Was last seen running up the track at Del Mar last September. Trainer Richard Mandella brought her back in this turf sprint for straight maidens. This filly ran a good one but had no shot at running down the lone speed. She is set to graduate next time out.
NOME: Trainer Mike Harrington doesn’t win many right now, but had this one ready to run. Nome ran huge off the layoff, but just came up a little short down the lane missing the place by a half length. He will be ready to wire them next time out with Maldo in the irons. $$$
LAKESIDE BRIDE: Now has lost 11 races. This maiden ran a deceptively good race last time out. She has some ability and may only need a little drop in class. Bride is sitting on the win at a price and we will give her a shot next time out.
SUMERIAN: Got the perfect ride by jockey Kayla Stra as she came right up the rail to beat the even money chalk. Stra is riding with vigor and can get a horse home. The price is usually right even when she rides for Julio Canani.
POWER OF NINE: Very consistent horse who gives his best every race. Was claimed by John Martin, who has done little wrong at the meet winning at around .45%. This one will be spotted for the win next time out and will be a solid single.
