CAUSE UR MY BABE: Like it when we see a top jock getting on a first time starter in the last race in a straight maiden. Mike Smith jumped on this filly out of the Mike Puype barn and she stormed home late getting up for second behind the lone speed. This 2yo has talent and will love it when the distances get longer.

TUCKERS POINT: At this time trainer Cody Autrey who may be gearing up for Del Mar is still looking for his first win at the meet. He probably should have gotten it with this one who had a ton of trouble but still ran on to just miss by a dwindling half a length. Next time he is the play. $$$

FREAKIN ROCKET: The first time starter out of the Tim Yakteen barn ran to his name as he rocketed home to win by almost 10 lengths for owners Mercedes Stables. They look to have a freakin’ good one with the Rock Hard Ten colt. We will follow up the ladder.

CORLETT DRIVE: Ran huge behind the odds-on wire-to-wire winner My Cinsation in this 6 furlong turf race. This filly can run and will be very hard to beat from off the pace next time out if finding some other speed up front to chase. if she goes a mile next time out we will dig deep and take our shot.

RIDINGWITHTHEDEVIL: Fought it out tooth and nail while down on the inside in this 6-1/2 furlong sprint for straight maiden fillies and mares. She battled it out from the bell but could not hold off the even money winner. Finished 4-3/4 lengths clear of the rest and will be a solid single next time out.

COULD BE TROUBLE: She was a great bet in this 6 furlong turf sprint, exiting the Grade 1 Santa Anita Oaks – a race that Fiftyshadesofhay won. Beholder ran a solid second in the Kentucky Oaks. She also had some solid turf works leading up to this race including a 1:01.3 bullet. Got off at 2-1 and came home on top as the best. We will be looking for her to come back in another turf sprint and we will single. $$$$$

GUTSHOT STRAIGHT: Won his last race for fun in a 32k claimer and was picked up for the astute Mike Mitchell who will have this gelding spotted for a repeat win. We will be going to the windows.

HEAT TRAP: First time starter by the great California turf sire Unusual Heat got off at almost 7-1 in this 6 furlong turf sprint. She was far back behind the runaway odds-on speed which opened up an eight-length lead turning for home but somehow stormed home and nailed her on the line paying $15.60. We look for her to come back and repeat. $$$

WHEN WE MET: Bill Morey comebacker was far back in the early going in this 6 furlong sprint but made a huge five wide move and finished full of run to pick up the place money just a length off the win. Next time out we will be digging deep. $$$
