MIDNIGHT LADY: Was looking for a price on this first time starter with the good bug boy Orozco riding. She was 8/1 on the morning line in this 20k maiden claimer. I tweeted this filly out and she got bet down to 7/2 and won by almost nine lengths. We look for her to come right back and run bit again. $$$

MONEY MACHINE: First time starter for Peter Miller was very live in here but could not handle the other live first time starter out of the John Sadler barn who got the easy win. Money Machine battled it out for second and prevailed in a big effort. Will be a solid single next time out. $$$$$

UPBEAT MOOD: Prompted the pace in this 6 furlong turf sprint in the Manhattan Beach. She got floated out wide in midstretch and angled in late. Was running hard till the end finishing third, beaten a length for the entire enchilada. A real nice effort and she will be hard to deny next time out.

MOROCCO MOON: I tweeted this Neil Drysdale comebacker out in the Redondo Beach going a mile on the grass. She was very itchy to run and sprung the latch from her far outside post. Battled tooth and nail trying to fight back down the lane, but tired late and had to settle for fifth in what was a much better than looked effort. With this race under her belt look for her to score next time out.

ERNIE OWL: Looked to be far back and in another race for this 6 furlong sprint for 10k claimers. He angled widest of all in upper stretch and made a last to first eye popping move to win going away leaving the rest in his wake.

MY STONE: This 2yo showed big early speed in this 5 furlong sprint for 50k maiden claimers. He could not hold off the favorite and his stablemate, but was a clear third. Was claimed for the 50k by John Sadler as the claim game is on. The new claim rules in effect and these are very controversial if anything. So before if you claimed a horse out of a race and the horse was broke down, well tough luck. If the horse broke down on the track, tough luck. Most trainers in the claim game like Mike Mitchell purchased insurance which is the correct way to do business. The claim game was like playing poker as you would take a shot and drop a horse trying to get the win in hopes no one would claim it thinking the horse was no good. Now if you claim a horse and the vet deems that the horse is not 100% he will void the claim. Not a good rule as it puts way too much power in the hands of a few. We know what power can do in the hands of a few.

WEST JET: First time starter out of the barn of Bill Morey was ridden by Terrero. These two have been on first when the hook up with first time starters. This one was bet in half from 10-1 on the morning line to 5/1 at post. He ran a nice third and will be ready to pop next time out. $$$
