WINNING RHYTHM: Had the winning rhythm going into this mile turf race, but after the late scratches those chances went down the drain. There ended up being only one speed horse in the race on this rock-hard turf course. She stayed to her game and came from far back in this 12-horse field, picking up the place in a big effort. This girl will be very hard to beat next time out going long on the Del Mar grass. $$$
GINGER TAP: Just finished ¾ length behind Winning Rhythm. She broke slow and was far back. Started her run just about the same time as Winning Rhythm and came home fast to pick up the show dough. Would love to see these two come back in the same race so we can play the Q and the trifecta with them as the two key horses 1-2. $$$
KURO: This one is in top form for an 8k claimer but needs a fast early pace and a fair track to get home on top. The price is always right and Del Mar may be the answer. We will give him one more shot at getting all the money.
LIAR LIAR LIAR: Looked solid in this spot and may have won but the other speed got scratched. That left the sprinter stretching out and the lone speed of the race. The winner, who got bet like the race was over, cleared early, did not get pressed and took them on a merry chase. Liar came from last and put in a huge late run. Was gaining on the winner late, finishing second some 7 lengths clear of the rest. No mistakes next time out at Del Mar. $$$$$
SPIRITED TOUCH: Has not panned out for Baffert but ran an even race last out and could come around at Del Mar. The price will be right, even with the high-end connections. We will take a shot next time out.
SAVINGS ACCOUNT: First time starter for trainer Tom Proctor ran a better-than-looked, mid-pack race and has the looks of a filly that wants longer. If she gets a little longer next time out she could pop at a nice price. We will be there, especially if Mike Smith comes back to ride.
FOREVER FREEDOM: Looked good off the layoff when coming from last to first to get up for a neck win for trainer Mike Mitchell. We look for him to find a good spot next out and get a repeat win.
CHIBITA: Just ran huge in defeat at 34/1 with Nicolas in the irons looking for his first win. He will get that at Del Mar and the price will be big. It could come on this claimer next time out.
TAELYNS PRINCE: This English Channel 2yo was making his first start for trainer Jeff Mullins going 5 furlongs on the grass. He ran good at 5/1 but could not get to the speed on this rock-hard turf course. He will love a little longer at Del Mar on the softer grass course. We will be taking a big shot. $$$$$
