APPEALING TALE: Bobbled at the start and dropped back between horses. He then swung wide into the stretch and finished like a flash to be one of five horses on the line. Lost the photo and had to settle for third beaten a neck in a race he may have been best.

TALE BE TOLD-SHERIFF HUTTON: Now this is the way to hit a huge exacta. If you would have liked Tale Be Told in this race who went off as the second favorite at 4-1 then Sheriff Hutton is a must use in the exacta as he was exiting the same race. That is one of my favorite plays and the Sheriff missed by a head at 69-1. The exacta paid a whopping $430.80 for two bucks. Look for the Sheriff to pop at a big price.

TOPPERS GHOST: On line subscribers received this winner at as the second half of the double. He was an easy winner and the $2 double returned a nice $216.20. Look for Topper to come right back and repeat as he ran like he loves this dirt track.

SHIVA RYAN: Really liked this Calder shipper in this mile turf race but Valdivia let Gary Stevens get the jump on him down the lane. He came home fast at 5-1 but could not run down the winner, losing by ¾ of a length. No mistakes next time out. $$$

SECRET COMPASS: As I wrote in my on line Saber’s Daily Horse Selections, you must take notice when Rosie Napravnik rides for Bob Baffert. She was on this filly and gave her a perfect ride winning by a head and paying $23.40. Behind her was the second favorite the very tough She’s a Tiger and Baffert’s very expensive filly Fascinating who is still a maiden but not for long. Fascinating finished third by ¾ of a length but was more than 18 clear of the rest in this Grade 1 Chandelier.

BEHOLDER: Huge payoff on this filly at $5.20. The way she won was scary and the way she looked on the track was even scarier. She is a monster and Gary Stevens fits like a glove. She will take some beating in the Breeders’ Cup.

BOLLER BOMB: 3yo filly was getting her first start off the Julio Canani claim and put in another good effort on the grass at almost 10-1. She is a fighter and these mile turf races are perfect for her. She could be a price if sent down the hill. Next time we will see her in the winner’s circle.

MISS PERSONALITY: First time starter for Baffert who is sitting on a big meet. This filly is owned by two of his favorite clients Gary and Mary West. You know Mr. B wanted to win early with this 2yo and win she did by four widening lengths somehow paying $10.80. She looks to be a real runner and we will follow her as she moves up the ladder.

QUIET FORCE: Looked to have a big shot in this mile turf race but jockey Bejarano had his problems finding position as he had him in and out looking for a spot. He angled back but had to check off heels in midstretch. Once clear he made a run but was too late. This one wins next time out with a clean trip. $$$$$

MAJESTIC STINGER: Ran huge in this 25k claimer winning by more than five lengths. This filly loves this course and will come right back to score for her new connections as she was claimed by Ron Ellis for the 25k.
