SANTA ANITA

SHARP RICHARD: Took a good shot with this shipper last out. Trainer Jeff Mullins had him ready to run, but he just got stuck on the inside for a bit. Once clear he made good rally finishing a close third. Fits here at this level and will be tough to beat next time out.

A PEPPER: First time starter was let go at 26/1 but ran like 2/1 coming from last with a big four wide run turning for home. He continued from the far outside down the lane and was closing in on the winner with every stride but ran out of ground. He wants longer.

TASTE LIKE CANDY: First time starter for trainer Jerry Hollendorfer ran like a future star just destroying these 2yo fillies by more than six lengths. She will also love the grass.

AKISS FORAROSE: Was probably best in this mile turf race, but hopped out of the gate and was far back. She looked hopelessly beaten, but ran huge down the lane finishing second by a half-length behind the lone speed and five lengths clear of the rest. Single next time out.

KRAZY FOR KRUGEL: Long shot special next time out. This first time starter ran a much better race than the form will show. She broke slow and was far back. Got going late and finished with interest. Look for a much better effort next time out at what will be a big price. A must use in the exotics.

THE CLEANERS: Hadn’t been seen since finishing up the track last November at Hollywood. He came back in this downhill turf sprint and took plenty of action finishing second behind the 2/1 chalk despite being bumped sideways leaving the gate. No mistakes next time out. $$$

SYNDICATED: Broke slow and just sat back last until the bend when he swung out for room. Made a big five wide run into the stretch. He closed like a flash and was gaining, but just had too much ground to make up on 7/5 winner who got the jump on them. This one will be very hard to beat next time out at this 50k claiming level.

TIZ A MINISTER: Just loved the 11/1 on this horse, but as horse players luck would have it he broke tardily and dropped to the inside. With no room and ready to rally he swung out and came five wide crossing the dirt. Made a furious late run but could only get up for the show dough. $$$$$

SHRILANKA: Hadn’t met the starter since last September at Del Mar but her race there as a 2yo was as good as any of these. She took plenty of action going off at 5/2. Ran her race and closed like a freight train, finishing a clear third in this 10 horse field. No stopping this filly next time out. $$$$$

INTOXICATING MOVE: Her name suited her move in this mile turf race. She made a six wide intoxicating move entering the stretch, rallying like a wild horse from the very far outside. Finished third, missing the place by a ½ length and just another neck behind the winner. She was best in here and only needs a better trip next time out. $$$
