Was just flying late when going down the hill finishing fourth. This 4yo gelding really wants to go long and this was a good prep off the little layoff. He was claimed by Vann Belvoir for $40k and this trainer does well. We like his chances next time out going long. $$$
Loves the workout pattern trainer Bruce Headley put into this filly in her first off the layoff. She ran as game as you can, finishing second at 9/1, losing by a ½ length behind the 50-cents-on-the-dollar winner. We will be on her next time out.
First time starter going down the hill was listed at 9/2 on the morning line and just was hammered at the betting windows, going off as the 5/2 chalk in this field of 11. She got the money and has the looks of a real nice filly. We will follow her.
Was listed as a colt in the Racing Form but was actually making his first start as a gelding and really showed some run down the lane. Finished second at almost 10-1 and more than 3 lengths clear of the rest while just a half-length behind the odds-on winner.
KISSIN LUCKY LIPS
First time starter ran up the track in what was a deceiving effort. She was steadied hard after a slow start and then tried to make a five-wide run into the stretch. Came on late but her race was lost at the start. Was claimed by trainer Mike Puype and he will have her ready to roll at a price next time out. $$$
Very classy runner in from over the pond for trainer Simon Callaghan. Really never got untracked in this mile turf race when going off at 3/2. Look for this one to go longer next time out on the grass and get the money.
May have been best in here but lost ground and a position turning for home. Came on strong just missing by a nostril on the line. He will be a solid single next time out for trainer Sadler.
UNKEPT RENDEZ VOUS
$8k claimer was eliminated at the start in this 6 furlong sprint. She gathered herself turning for home and closed strong to dead heat for the place. We like her chances next time out with a good trip.
BIG ROSIE BROWN
Second time Big Brown filly was being sent a mile, and did she take to the longer distance sitting far back. Made a huge late run down the lane to pick up the place while well clear of the rest. Will be hard to beat next time out going long on the dirt or grass.
HE’S ON HIS TOES
First time starter for the top connections of Tommy Town and Jerry Hollendorfer. Had a ton of trouble in this straight maiden race but still was a clear third. He wins next time out. $$$$$
