Bob Baffert first time starter with Kent Desormeaux getting a rare ride for this trainer, broke out but gained a nice stalking position in the early going. She moved up on her own while Kent had her in hand. Reached the front and just powered away to win with a lot left. This 2yo filly looks like a real up and comer. $$$

Mike Puype first time starter was breaking from the rail going 5½ furlongs and that has not been where you wanted to be in these type sprints. He spurted to the front and then resisted a challenge into the stretch exchanging bobs. Regained control and drew away while under a long hold by jockey Talamo. This was a big WOW run and we will be all over this gelding next time out. $$$$$

Was slammed sideways at the start. Once straight he tucked behind the leading pack and joined the pace from between horses. Got to the front but could not hold off the 70-cents-on-the-dollar favorite. Did finish a clear second, showing he liked the dirt. Will be a solid single next time out.

Late running sprinter just sat back last in this 5½ furlong sprint. Got going at the top of the lane and was storming home late when finding her best stride but could only finish fourth. She needs a little longer to get the job done and we will see that in her next start.

One of my favorite baseball players in the 50’s. Got to see him a few times when he played for the Pirates in 58-59. Kluszewski the horse was 6-1 on the morning line in this his second start. He was up the track at Del Mar in his debut race but was sent off at 7/2 and ran big showing he liked the move to dirt. Look for him on first base, no, the winning circle next time out.

First time starter for trainer David Hofmans had an excellent work. Jockey Bejarano was listed to ride but taken off. Martin Pedroza got the leg up and Suva ran a winning race, finishing second behind the even money lone speed while almost three lengths in front of the rest. Probably Bejarano next time and the win. $$$

Iggy Puglisi gave his gelding the perfect ride for the win for trainer Paul Aguirre. These are two to keep an eye on at Santa Anita and Iggy has been bringing in some bombs.
