LOS ALAMITOS/SANTA ANITA

BELLE ET BETE: Irish import making her first start in the States hopped and was bumped at the start. Was dead last in this field of 11 going a flat mile on the grass. She settled inside and looked to be ready to make a move but had to steady off heels in upper stretch. Finally got out for room and finished full of run. $$$

FONZ: Looked ready for a big effort off his last work and gave it his all despite a wide trip, which probably cost him the race, losing the bob on the line. He is ready to win.

AQUAFRIA: Was far outside in this 1 1/16 turf route but was coming off some solid works. She ran her eyes out just missing the place by a neck at 8/1. Probably won’t see 8/1 next time but a trip to the winner’s circle is on tap.

LONGSTOCKING: Filly was working lights out for her debut race, but may not have cared for the inside post; she came out but really never got into the race. We will toss this effort and give her another shot.

POPOVER: Was in the same race as Longstocking and just missed by a nostril. This filly was also working lights out for Baffert and will be a solid single next time out in the picks. We will keep an eye out for this race. It could turn out to be a key race. $$$$$

BOLO: Was exiting our HTW list and just blasted home for an easy win in this 1 1/16 turf route, paying a nice $7.60. We will keep him on our list as he looks to be a real up and comer in on grass.

KANTUNE: Hard luck colt just can’t get the right trip.He is sitting on the win and should get it at Santa Anita on the dirt.

ECKERSLEY: Was entered in the last race on Nov. 30 at Del Mar. He was on the also list and did not scratch. His works said he was on go and we will look for the debut race very soon. Make a little plunge. $$$

AWESOME INDY: $8k claimer has some run and is in good form. He moves to the barn of Leandro Moro (Doug O’Neill) and will get a big jockey switch next out in what looks to be a very good $8k claim.
