SANTA ANITA

ENTABENI: Was coming off a long layoff, she made a good run but just could not follow through, this race did her a ton of good and she will be a much tighter filly next time out.

TAMARACK SMARTY: Chased the pace while between hoses, angled in for room but lacked room behind horses in midstretch when he looked to be making a winning move, he was checked and taken to the outside and came on for the place. $$$$$

KELLY LEAK: Beat Kentucky Derby winner Mine That Bird last year at Sunland Park, this was a very good prep for this 4yo, look for him in the winners’ circle very soon.

BUYER’S REMORSE: Was making his first start as a 3yo and he faced all the tough ones last year and looked like a great play at 7-2, he did put in a good run but had to settle for the place money but this race will set him up perfectly for a win in his next start.

A CLEVER TEN: Broke out and was bumped hard and then was squeezed back, he went between horse trying to make a run down the hill but got caught wide on the turn but still was trying to the very end in what was a much better than looked effort, give this girl a big shot to rebound in her next start dirt or turf. $$$$$

SIROCCO STRIKE: Just got a horrible ride by Solis who just rides good on occasion any more, he dropped this guy back to dead last and made a wide run as he don’t like the rail trip anymore. At one time the jockey colony at Santa Anita was the best with the likes of Pincay, McCarron, Stevens and others but now it is more or less a joke. With a better trip Sirocco Strike will win next time out.

OPERETTA ITALIANO: Was in from the Fair Grounds and landed in the Bill Spawr barn, this filly ran very well off the layoff and will be right there in her next start with this one under her belt.

SCOTTISH DIAMOND: Hard knocking 10k claimer put in another gutsy effort and now goes from the low profile Sierra barn to the Jeff Mullins stable, this guy will be a good single in the picks in his next outting for Mullins.

GOLDEN GATE FIELDS

CHU SHY SHY: Looked to have a good shot in this race at 5-1 off her second place finish last time out but she never ran a step finishing last. She was claimed by top trainer Steven Miyadi for the sneaky For The Boy’s Stable, look for a big run in her first start for these connections. $$$

GIPTAR: Was just hammered at the windows early and late from his 15-1 morning line to 3-1 at post time, as luck would have it he hesitated and hopped at the start and was off last and outrun took the turn, he made a five-wide run into the stretch and just stormed home and too the lead but got headed late as he tired a tad from his early efforts. NO mistakes for this guy in his next start which could be very soon. $$$$$

TO THE BATCAVE: Was in a good stalking position but got caught behind a wall of horses and had to be checked for the quarter pole to the three sixteenths pole, she got through a tight opening and stormed home for the win. This girl is in top form and could come right back and repeat.
