SANTA ANITA
FROGGY FRESH
$30k maiden claimer ran a big race last out when finishing a game second behind the odds on winner Natalie’s Wonder who was the speed of the race. Froggy beds down in the hot barn of Philip D’Amato (Mike Mitchell) and looks to be sitting on the win. We will be using as a single next time out at this 30k level.
LOGAN’S MOON
Was last seen running against the likes of Vyjack at Aqueduct back in 2012. He came back in this spot and landed in the barn of Peter Eurton who put Bejarano on for the ride. He ran his race at 5/1 but just could not run down the lone speed. Was gaining with every stride at the wire while more than six lengths clear of the rest of the field. We have another single next time out. $$$$$
KATERRIFIC
Maiden filly ran a much better race than her fourth place finish indicates. She was sent early to get to the front but got shuffled back down on the inside. Remained on the rail and was moving up down the lane in a sneaky good effort. We will be all over this filly next time out. $$$
FAME AND POWER
That is what we will call the Baffert barn at Santa Anita and he has been red hot here at Los Al. This is one of the few runners he didn’t get the maiden breaker with but ran a winning race. Was picking up the 7/5 chalk at the wire just missing by a dwindling half-length. This one is sitting on the win next time out. $$$
EMPRESS WILDCAT
First time starter for trainer David Hofmans was forced in at the start and then chased between horses. Went outside and rallied from the far outside motoring home fast to just miss the place by a half-length while more than four lengths clear of the rest. We want six furlong or longer next time out and will be playing. $$$
