SYNNIN: Was going down the hill for the first time and really didn’t get the best of rides by Hall of Fame jockey Alex Solis. Still, he still ran a winning race just failing to run down the lone speed on a course that has been favoring front runners. No mistakes next time out. $$$

CORINTHIAN’S SONG: Came back from a long layoff as a gelding and ran lights out in this downhill turf sprint finishing third, just missing the place by a head and the win by 3/4 of a length at 17/1. We will be on him next time out.

MCHEAT: Maiden was getting his first try on the grass and he was bred for the trip. Had a horrible trip after pulling and tugging jockey Nakatani out of the saddle while stuck down on the rail. He then came out into the stretch, but had to be steadied hard when crowded. Just could not recover and finished fourth.

SPIRIT OF XIAN: Was making her first start in the States and had some good works for this downhill turf sprint. She chased between horses leaving the hill and looked to be making her move, but had to be steadied off heels nearing the crossover. Went to the inside and kept coming, but was late in what was a top effort. $$$

ZIP N BAYOU: Ran an improved race in this her second start and has the looks of a filly that may want to go long. She is sitting on a big race next out.

BLACKFORD: Ran his heart out when battling tooth and nail the entire 1-1/8 on this turf course. Just failed to hold second. He needs a more patient ride.

POWER JAM: Baffert runner came into this race working a hole in the wind and ran to his works at 40 cents on the dollar, winning with ease under a hand ride. Another huge prospect for the Shah and his man.

BEHEST: First time starter for trainer Phil D’Amato blitzed this group of $50k maiden claimers after hopping at the start to be off last. No claims in for this filly so we will see her in a starter allowance race next out and a repeat win.
