SPANISH QUEEN: First time starter for trainer Richard Baltas was 6/1 on the morning line but was sent off at 2/1 at post time. She ran like the money dictated. After breaking slow was dead last till the 3/4 pole in this mile turf race. Then she unleashed a huge run to win going away by almost six lengths while the jockey had her under a long hold. She looked like she could go around again. $$$$$

KOBE’S BACK: Performed to his name in the Grade 2 San Carlos running huge in defeat off the long layoff, losing by less than a length. Trainer Peter Eurton has this one ready for a big season. $$$

ARETHUSA: Was getting her second start both off the layoff and on the grass. She loved this longer distance flying late to surge for the win. This 4yo filly looks to have a lot of upside going long on the grass.

LOST BUS: Filly was last seen at Del Mar back in August of last year. She had a great year and came back running in this 6 furlong sprint when making a five wide move into the stretch. Barreled home to win looking like a good thing at 5/2. She will be moving on to bigger things next time out.

SAMMY MANDEVILLE: Sammy came to play in this 1-1/16 optional claimer as he made an eye catching move going from last to first in the blink of an eye. Won going away by more than six lengths while under a long Kent Desormeaux hold. This colt has found his mojo and will be moving on up the East Side. $$$

ROCKO’S WHEEL: Rocko was making his second start and first on grass. His first start was last year at Del Mar when he was sent off at 5-2 and split the field that day. He came back in this spot with some very solid works and ran to them showing his likeness for the dirt. He will be able to take on winners next out.

PAYTHEBANK: Finished second at 8/1 just failing to get up on the line, losing by a dwindling neck. He lost to a horse exiting the same race and the $2 exacta paid $52.20 .We will be playing this horse next out.
