SANTA ANITA NOTE: The last day of racing at Santa Anita will be Sunday April 18, Hollywood Park will open Wednesday, April 21.

B.I.GUY: Was a bit slow out of the gate and got stuck down on the inside and was checked back losing a position, he came out for room into the stretch and again in upper stretch rallying wide but came on late just missing the place money.

LAMM: Trainer Mike Mitchell may have been playing a little poker with this guy on the drop in class, he won for fun but Mitchell lost him at the claim box to top Northern Cal trainer Morey so this guy just may be heading for some big races on the grass up North so keep and eagle eye open for him as he could be a good single in the picks.

MERRYTAGIO: Hopped at the start and settled wide early and well off the rail, she split horses on the turn and made a big run picking up the place and has the looks of a filly getting the hang of it, she will be very hard to beat next time around.

SKELLYTOWN/UFFIZI: These two finished first (Skellytown) and second (Uffizi) separated by a head last time out. Mike Mitchell the trainer of Uffizi claimed Skellytown and they could be an entry next time out and both could repeat this finish.

SILENT SOUL: Was last seen routing at Del Mar last July, he got a real good prep in this 6½ furlong downhill turf sprint finishing fifth losing by less than 2 lengths. This race will set him up for longer on the Hollywood grass and the price will be right. $$$

MINDBLOWER: First time starter going 11/16 a very tough assignment for a first time starter but this son of Giant’s Causeway came storming down the lane and won like something good. This big guy is a must follow and has the looks of a horse that can run all day and just get better with experience. $$$$$

PRIMED: Was primed for a big effort today but just could not handle the even money Pincelada. You can circle him and use as a single in your picks next time around.

SLEW THE MAN: Broke clean and was up with the early pace, he took back off a hot pace but got stuck behind a wall of horse leaving the bend when making what looked to be a winning move, he was steadied hard while searching for a place to go, he then shifted back to the inside and came through an opening flying late but was too late. $$$$$

CONTINENTAL CREAM: Made a nice late run in this cheap 4k claimer but looks to be rounding into form and sitting on a winning effort.

CABO CANTINA: First time starter may have been best in here but lacked room when she looked ready to make her run, once clear she came home fast losing by a half length.

RADICAL IDEA: Advanced from the rail on the turn but found no room and had to check back but finished in a good rally picking up the place money, this one is ready for graduation. $$$$$
