SANTA ANITA

PAYTHEBANK: Love the way this one went late as he chased the lone speed from the bell. He looked to be fading but came back on late to lose by a dwindling head.

MADE TO WORSHIP: Was last seen back in December of 2013 and was let go in this race at almost 17/1. When we have a chance at betting a Hollendorfer runner at that price we must take a shot. Was anxious to run and pulled the jockey as she prompted the pace. Had to steady when she got between horses, fell back, then came outside and made a nice late run to pick up the show dough. She will be ready to win next out.

IPRAY: Interesting horse to watch following Made To Worship. This second time starter was hammered at the windows going off at even money. She had the misfortune of running against the big speed bias but still made a nice late run to finish fourth, missing third by a nostril. No mistakes next time on a fair surface. $$$

TOOWINDYTOHAULROX: Was exiting our HTW list and had a horrible trip. He had to wait and was steadied hard off heels in midstretch when he looked to be making a winning run. Got going again late to finish fourth. We will keep him on our list of next out winners.

ANNIE’S CANDY: 2yo Peter Miller first time starter by Candy Ride took all the money in this 4-1/2 furlong race only to come with a big wide late run just missing by the slimmest of noses. As the distances get longer this one will be a player. $$$$$

MATRICULATE: First time starter ran to his sizzling works just crushing this field by more than six lengths to win going away. He will repeat.

EXPLICABLE: Had some good works off the layoff but she bobbled at the start to be last and lost all shot. Showed some good courage with a big late run just missing the place by a neck. Gets the win next time out with a clean break. $$$$$

SILVER MOJAVE: Ran huge off the layoff just missing in a three horse photo when going down the hill. We love her chances next time out for trainer Mike Puype.

BRONZE START: Another Hollendorfer layoff runner who got off at almost 8/1. He ran a very good second but had no shot at the runaway speed winner.

BAL A BALI: Was the hype horse of the day as all the talk was on this runner who won the Triple Crown of Brazil. The hype was right as he won like a pro and will be one to keep an eye on as they head to the Breeders’ Cup.
