SANTA ANITA

ROYAL TEMPTRESS: Just had a horrible trip as Prat was sitting on a stick of dynamite down on the rail, but when he wanted to let this filly go she was trapped and he had to check off heels. He then altered course to the outside for room, losing a position. Once clear she came home with a rush but the early trouble cost her as she missed by a dwindling half-length while three deep on the line. $$$$$

UNUSUALLY BIG: Tyler Baze getting a ride for trainer Tom Proctor on this one who was back in town after finishing third at Golden Gate. He sat down on the inside and just had a ton of horse. He swung out for room, storming home to miss by a nostril. This one is ready for the maiden breaker next time out going long on the grass.

TOOWINDYTOHAULROX: Was exiting our HTW list and going a flat mile, which is his best distance, getting home for the win and paying $8. We will keep him on our HTW list going this mile distance or longer.

UPBEAT TEMPO: First time starter for trainer Ron Ellis took plenty of action at the windows going off at 2/1. Showed good early speed but could not hold off the dropper favorite. Finished more than three lengths clear of the rest and will be a solid single next time out at this $20k maiden claiming level.

GAGA: Euro import for trainer Neil Drysdale just ran a super race in the $75k Possibly Perfect Handicap. She drew away from the odds-on 70-cents-on-the-dollar chalk having the looks of a mare that wanted to go longer. We will be watching where Drysdale spots her next time out.
