DEL MAR

QUANTUM FORCE: Another first time starter getting the win for trainer John Brocklebank who has come to Southern California with a loaded barn of 2yo runners. This colt blasted home to win by almost 3 lengths in this five furlong sprint while under a long hold late by Talamo.

NAVY HYMN: 2yo first time starter for trainer Doug O’Neill battled in the early going. He took a short lead into the stretch but could not hold off the above mentioned Quantum Force who was just that. Navy Hymn was more than 3 lengths clear of the rest and will be a solid single next time out. $$$$$

CLASSY CHICK: Filly had a horrible trip in this $20k maiden claimer as she had to be steadied hard off heels into the first turn and fell back. She tried to come on late but could only get up for fourth. Looks to be coming around and could pop next time out at a price.

SHOPPING SAVANNAH: May have been best in here but she broke slow, got in tight off heels and checked. She then had to come out for room and swing four wide into the stretch but came home fast to be a clear second. $$$

BRIANA JEAN: Was being ridden by one of this bettor’s favorite jocks James Graham who ventures west looking for gold. We think he will make his mark. We will be looking for him on some price plays at Del Mar and also singling this runner next out with the Irish lad Jimmie in the irons.
