SANTA ANITA/LOS ALAMITOS TB

FAMILY FOREVER: First time starter in this $30k maiden claimer took no action but ran a very nice race going a flat mile on the dirt, which is a hard spot for a first time two year old. He made a nice late run to finish third 11 lengths clear of the rest and was gaining at the end.

PATH OF DAVID: Was in from Keeneland and making his first start as a first time gelding for trainer Kristin Mulhall. He ran lights out in this mile turf race for straight maidens, pulling clear at the end in this field of 12. Will be able to handle winners on the grass.

UNDENIABLE U: Was exiting our HTW list and got off at 7/2. He had a bad start and then jockey Espinoza kept him on the outside. On the second turn he came four wide and got up for the place. No mistakes next time out. Will be a solid single going long on the Santa Anita green. $$$$$

MIRAGE: Exited our HTW list one race back and was sent to the BC Juvenile turf where she ran ok but was overmatched. Came back in the Jimmy Durante and had a horrible trip, steadying hard on the second turn when checking off heels. Baze then got her boxed in passing midstretch, but still was running on to just miss the show dough. If this filly ever gets a trip she will storm home for the easy win. $$$

HUNT/ITSINTHEPOST/SECOND SUMMER: These three all exit the same race and were a half-length apart with HUNT finishing second after a stupid ride by Mike Smith. He had this one dead last in this field of 12 and stayed there till the top of the lane. He then unleashed a huge late run to miss by a length. Would love to see a jockey switch by D’Amato. POST started this race as a first time gelding and finished a rousing third just a nostril behind HUNT and a half length ahead of SUMMER who had to wait off heels in midstretch or may have gotten there. All in all we would love to see all three come back in the same race. If so we will be exacta and tri boxing. $$$$$

MINER’S LIGHT: Ran a close second behind EXAGGERATOR at Del Mar back in July in his first start. Came back in this very strong straight maiden race going 6½ furlongs and made a big five-wide late run (again with this Smith) to finish a close and dwindling third. Would love to see this one going a mile next time out.
