(DEL MAR opens Friday, July 15)

DISCATSONTHESQUARE: Was in a good spot stalking while down on the rail in this 5½ furlong sprint. She needed a way through but it didn’t happen and had to check off heels midway on the turn. Made a four-wide run to finish third by a length. May have been best in here and we would like to see her going 6 furlongs next time out.

SEASIDE GLORY: Was seen last running at Del Mar as a 2yo last September. Trainer Hollendorfer, who is also a part owner of the filly, brought her back in what looked to be a tough spot vs. the odds-on Tryst, but she won with authority. Looks to have a ton of upside. $$$$$

SID THE SQUID: First time starter for Art Sherman could not handle the odds-on winner in this $40k maiden claimer but finished second more than five lengths clear of the rest. This filly will be very hard to beat next time out. We will be singling in the picks.

UNINVITED: Was facing our $$$$$ HTW play Vinz Clortho who was sent off at 70-cents-on-the-dollar. Vinz got there but Uninvited tried to run him down late, just missing by a dwindling half-length at 11-1. We look for him in the winner’s circle next time out. $$$

LOVELY ANZI: Was exiting the same race as the odds-on Tengas Ransom, who won. But this colt finished a solid second while more than nine lengths clear of the rest in this 10 horse field.

DECKED OUT: Took the worst of it in the Grade 2 Honeymoon as she threw her head at the start to break slow and far back. Had to save ground and was ready to make her move but altered course when in tight, checking off heels in midstretch. She made a four-wide run just missing in a four horse photo. $$$$$

BUNDESLIGA: First time starter for Baffert running in a $20k maiden claimer. She took some action but bobbled at the start. Made a big five wide move on the turn but had too much work to do and settled for third money.
