DEL MAR

EVER SO TRUE: Ran a winning race in this mile turf straight maiden affair. She was gaining with every big stride on the winner at the end but came up ¾ of a dwindling length short vs. the 7/5 chalk who was in from over the pond and had F. Geroux riding. Ever So True will be a solid single next out going a mile or longer on the grass.

A RED TIE DAY: May have been best here in the $75K Lure going a mile on the grass but he lost two positions into the lane and that cost him the race. He surged late between runners to just miss by a neck and a nose with three runners on the line. Wins next out with a better trip.

TWO THIRTY FIVE, BARDSTOWN, PSYCHEDELICAT: These three finished first, second and third in this $20K maiden claimer with Two Thirty Five, who was exiting this list, winning and paying $75.80. We hope you had him. Bardstown ran big at 7/5 and just did hold off Psychedelicat who got in tight and had to switch out for room, most likely costing him the place money. We like them all back again next out.

DABSTER: If you listened to the Race Day Las Vegas show on Breeders’ Cup Friday before our huge seminar you would have heard this writer give out this horse. He got the money, paying $11.40, and we will come right back with him. Loved the way he kicked clear late and has the look of a colt who will savor a flat mile on the dirt. $$$

SMOKEM: A lot of singles went down the drain with this runner on Breeders’ Cup day in the pick five as he had a horrible trip. Still only lost by the shortest of noses when coming from last after being in tight and steadying hard. No mistakes next time out. $$$
