SANTA ANITA

MISS BOOM BOOM: This filly ran much too well to lose in this mile turf race as she chased outside then off the rail on the second turn. She came wide into the stretch while outside the winner and just failed to get to the winner, losing by a ½ length. We love the fact that she was claimed for $32K by Richard Baltas who also retained part ownership. He will have her spotted for the win next out. $$$

SOUTH BOOT SHIRLEY: We liked this 3yo filly first-time starter in our online daily horse releases. She got off at almost 11/1 and ran a huge race, finishing second by ¾ of a length behind the Peter Miller odds-on winner. We will be heading to the windows next time out if she stays at this $30K maiden level.

CONQUEST TSUNAMI: Peter Miller runner was going down the hill in the $100K Grade 3 Daytona. He also had two other runners in the race, the 9/5 Stormy Liberal and the 8/5 Calculator. They ran second and third with Conquest Tsunami winning at 5-1. A lesson to be learned here.

FIBONACCI: Blasted this group of maiden 3yo going 1-1/8 on the grass when under a snug long hold by Brice Blanc, and this guy looked like he wanted to keep running. Blanc fits this one like a glove and we’d love to see trainer Baltas ride him. He will come back vs, winners and repeat going long on the grass.

MONGOLIAN WINDOW: Maiden 3yo filly running for a $75K price tag for the sneaky trainer Enebish Ganbat. She ran her heart out battling tooth and nail the entire mile turf distance coming up just a neck short. This one is sitting on the win next out.

CONO: Hopped in a slow start in this downhill turf sprint vs. the odds-on Masked. He looked totally out of it but blasted home late to miss by a dwindling ¾ of a length. This one wins next out with a good start. $$$$$
