FAIRPLEX

SANTA ANITA

GOLDEN GATE

RAISE THE RIVER: Long-time maiden out of the Carla Gaines barn just failed to hold but was more than nine lengths clear of the third place finisher. Once this guy breaks through, look for him to rattle off several wins.

VIA VERDE: First-time starter could not handle the odds-on Baffert horse Indian Firewater (who looks to be a future stakes horse) but ran a very game second and will be a single next time out. $$$$$

THE USUAL Q.T.: Turf loving gelding now has two wins and a second from three starts on the green. He looks to be moving on up the ladder for trainer James Cassidy.

LAUNCH THE BULL: Has some speed and grit; this guy may show up at Fairplex. If so, just go to the window, dig deep and send it in.

CAMISADO: Was a release here on our website, along with the second place finisher. The $2 exacta came back $139.80. Look for trainer Moger to move this old pro North.

JAZZANDTHEMAGICIAN: This guy was well thought of early on in his career but showed up here for 25k. He ran a credible third and was claimed by O’Neill. If he moves him up a notch in class he will be worth a bet.

FLYINGINFORMATION: Is in top form and will only need a fast pace to break her maiden. She could have won her last but got into a jam in mid-stretch and that cost her.

TERRIFY: First-time starter took all the early and late action but just could not hold off the live comebacker. Next time there will be no mistakes as this girl will wire them.

MR.SATURDAYNIGHT: Ran a much better than looked race last time out and may be set for the win at what will be a nice price.

FEED A FEVER: Broke sharp but had to take back early. Was dead last but got going into the lane and made a strong run to be a clear third. $$$

SARTORAIL: Was coming off a layoff for trainer Richard Mandella but ran big time despite a very wide trip. This race will set him up perfectly for the Santa Anita turf course.

SETSUKO: Just did not get into stride until it was too late. Came storming home late and was one of three heads on the wire for second. He will be a nice price play next time out. $$$$$
