GRAYDLE’S RED: Took a little shot on this first time starter trained by A C Avila and ridden by his main jock Berrio, he was let go at 55/1 and made a big late run to pick up the place and paid $36.20, maybe next time but not at that price.
SERENE SOPHIA: The word was out on this Baffert first time starter as she was bet down to 8/5 but you just had to see the race she ran, she got cut off at the start and had to drop back to last, she then circled the field and came storming home to win going away in what was a very scary effort. $$$$$
WHEN WE MET: Ran a sneaking better than looked race at 10/1, he could come back soon and pop for his new connections who put up 40k to claim him.
BAD BOY: Very consistent horse as he usually puts in his late run, he was re-claimed by his old trainer Julio Canani so look for this one to return soon and get back into the winners’ circle. $$$$$
APT TO BE AMAZING: We have been on this tough mare all along and now she gets claimed by one of the best, William E Morey, who will have her spotted for another big turf effort, and he could have the Golden Gate turf course in mind.
SNOVEMBER: Was last seen running up the track at Hollywood Park back in November of last year but came back in this spot running, he was closing with every big stride on the winner but just did fail by less than a length, next time no mistakes.
ROYAL F J: I just loves these turf winners that have taken a long time to break their maiden and this was his 11th start and he finally got it down in impressive style and could come right back and repeat now that he knows how it feels. $$$$$
TELL A KELLY: Was down on the inside and making a move on the turn but had to swing out for room but got fanned wide into the stretch but got into another gear and just mowed down the odds on chalk to win going away in what was a prime time effort. $$$$$
HEMERA: Was last and far back in another galaxy in this mile turn race but just came home like a freight train to finish second behind our HTW winner Malibu Pier who looks to be a real up and comer for trainer Carla Gains. Hemera would have won on any other day.
REAL LUCKY: First time starter put in a real good effort behind the odds on Don Perico and this guy will not be a maiden for long.
AKEELA: Somehow this filly was let go as the longest shot in the race at 37-1 as she was coming off a layoff but she looked good on the track and blew them away down the lane paying $76.00, these type can come right back and score again at another big price, so lets keep an eye open for her.
