KICKEN OFF: Ran huge in this 11/16 turf route for maiden special fillies and mares as she had a wide trip and had to check off heels when in tight right before the wire finishing third but losing the entire enchilada by less than a length. This girl will be ready for the maiden breaker going long on the Hollywood green. $$$$$

TIZ ARGENT: You just had to see this race to understand how this colt could have possibly have won. He broke slow and then was bumped and steadied between horses to be far back and in another galaxy. He was dead last until the top of the stretch when he unleashed a big run to get up on the line. Turf is this one’s game and he could move up and beat winners.

JAYCITO: Maiden was exiting our HTW list and put in the Grade 1 Del Mar Futurity, he had no shot at the odds on winner J P’s Gusto but made a big late run to be a clear second three lengths better than the rest at almost 20-1, we will keep this up-and-comer on our watch list for a while. $$$$$

QUEEN MARINI: Was four wide in the early going, she looked to be making a big move but had to check off heels midway on the turn, she then took back and came out four wide once again into the stretch and made a big late run to be a clear second.

HOG’S HOLLOW: Was a selection on daily horse selections and rewarded us with a $12.80 payoff, this gelding just may have found a home in these marathon turf routes, we will continue to follow. Also with Hollywood Park opening on Wednesday Sept. 29 don’t miss our daily picks on the website so if you don’t have it get it now!

BENCH THE JUDGE: Was also a selection on, this guy was last seen facing the likes of Rule back in ’09, he came back running at almost 7-1 and was gaining on the winner with every stride but just did fail by a half length. This was a great prep and he will be set for his best next time out.

JAZZMINA: First time starter took some action and looked good on the track, she stalked the leaders but got stuck behind horses and had to wait, she shifted out in the stretch and looked like she was shot out of a gun with a quick burst she took over and drew clear in what was an eye popping performance for an 8k maiden claimer.

SPORT KING: Race in toe for the inside to the second turn but got caught in heavy traffic into the stretch, he had to angle out for room but just stormed home to win going away.

NOT IN THIS LIFE: Stumbled badly out of the gate and had the rider losing his balance and almost falling off, he recovered but was far back then settled and made a big late run picking up the pace money in what was a gutsy effort.

ACAFFELLA: Was another maiden exiting out HTW list and this guy was shipped in to run in the $50K Angel Island Stakes and what a performance he put in winning by six lengths in what was a scary effort.

GAME EVENT: First time starter was just being hammered at the windows getting bet down from 8-1 on the morning line to 9-5 at post time, as the horse gods would have it he hesitated at the start and broke slow, the jock had to use him to get into contention and he pressed the pace but was caught four wide to the stretch and had to settle for the place money, this one will be a good single next time out.
