SAMBA SCHOOL: Was exiting our HTW list and managed to get thought late and get up for a nice win paying $9.20. We are still waiting for trainer Mike Mitchell to let this filly loose on the grass and that may happen very soon so we will keep her on the list.

STONE HEAT: Was between horses into the stretch but then was inside rallying as one of three noses on the line at the wire but lost the head bob but may have been best with a better trip and he was more than a length clear of the fourth place finisher. He is sitting on the win.

RYEHILL DREAMER: Once thought of as a Kentucky Derby prospect last year but an injury sidelined this top prospect. He came back running in this spot and easily disposed of this group wire-to-wire; we will follow him up the ladder.

TIZ SMOKE TIZ FIRE: Just loved this filly in this 11/16 straight maiden race on the grass and she won like a good thing. This girl has some talent and will be able to move up and face winners. $$$

GOBBLER’S KNOB: Was squeezed back after the start and was dead last until the ¾ pole when he moved up on the outside but he had to wait leaving the turn and was switched out to find some clear sailing; once let loose, he stormed home like a freight train to win going away by more than six lengths. This gelding will find a nice starter allowance race next time out and you will see him in the winners’ circle for a repeat win.

RAUSCHENBERG: Lightly raced maiden scored impressively despite trouble in this 11/16 straight maiden race on the grass. This colt looks like a very nice prospect for trainer Mary Jones; we will stick with him as he moves up the ladder. $$$

RENTS PAID: Before you dig into your pockets to bet this guy, just make sure your rent is paid. Rents Paid just put in a much better than looked effort and has the looks of a horse ready to roll next time out and the price should be okay.

OAKCREST DRIVE: First time starter out of the James Cassidy barn was steadied hard and squeezed back and bumped at the start and most 2yo maidens would have packed it in but this guy got going again and ran his heart out to pick up the place money. We will follow him and take our shot next time out.

BANANA CREAM PIE: Chased, seemed to get caught between horses the entire trip but got out three deep into the stretch and came on strong gaining on the winner late with every big stride but just could not run down the lone speed who had opened up some three lengths down the lane. She was more than five lengths clear of the rest and will be a solid single next time out. $$$$$

ZOHRAH: Looked to have a big shot in this straight maiden 11/16 turf route even with the low profile Maldonado in the irons but he may have made a premature move in the stretch and got caught late at almost 10-1. We will look for the jockey change next time out but there will be no 10-1 – but a win is a win.

GOT MILCH: 2yo first time starter running for a 50k price tag ran an even race to pick up the show dough. He was claimed by a very sharp trainer for the 50k so we had to take notice as there must be more there than meets the eye. We will hook him up next time out.

GREAT RISING STAR: If you had this guy at 14-1 last time out as I did, you just got to be sick as he ran a winning race from his far outside post in this flat mile on the grass but got bobbed by the 2-1 winner. We will be all over this one next time out, so dig deep but pay the rent first. $$$$$
