MR ARTISTIC M D: First time starter for trainer Kathy Walsh was scheduled to run on the six furlong turf course, but the race was switched to the main track. This 2yo gelding got bet down to 60¢ on the dollar and won like a good thing. Very interested to see if Walsh will bring this one back on the grass; if so we will bet.

JOE CARL: This win machine came from last to first in a flash to win going away; he was claimed by top Northern Cal conditioner William E. Morey so he may be heading to the Gate. We will keep our eyes open for him.

CHAPMAN’S PEAK: Ran a big number in his last coming into this race and would have been odds on except for the hot first time starter out of the Baffert barn who won on the line on the head bob. Chapman was almost six lengths clear of the rest and will be a solid single next time out.

BAR ROCK OMAMA: Was last seen running at Fairplex last September but came back here running for trainer Jeff Mullins who just may have his stable ready to fire once again. This filly just ran her eyeballs out with jockey Maldonado in the irons at 12-1, winning going away by more than nine lengths. She could come back and repeat at another good price.

SECRET OATH: May have been best in here at 8-1 but got in a little trouble in midstretch and that cost her as she came flying down on the inside and just did fail to get the lone speed on the line.

DIME: Woke up big time here at Hollywood when freaking out, winning by more than 10 lengths; this looks like a good claim by O’Neill for top owner J. Paul Reddam.

NEFARIOUS: Was looking for a race on the grass but it came off; she ran a good race and will be mighty hard to beat next time out with this one under her belt, especially if she can find a turf race for straight maidens. $$$$$

TO BE DEVANT: Steve Sherman Fairplex invader ran a winning race but just did miss by a nostril on the line but was seven lengths clear of the rest; she will be a solid single next time out. $$$$$

DEAL BREAKER: Was one of three heads on the line and may have been best but got fanned wide while making his bid on the second turn but came on strong with a determined run. $$$$$

CAVANAL: Was exiting our HTW list and looked solid in this turf race but the race was put on the main. He looked to be making a big move but got stuck behind a wall of horses and never got going again; we will keep him on our list.

FAR FLUNG: First time starter was squeezed at the start and took up and was far, far back and in another galaxy in this mile race. He made a late run just missing the show dough by a nose and the place by ¾ of a length; next time with a clean break.

KAILI: Was last seen winning here back in August of ’09, she came back running today at 10-1 paying $23.40 and rewarding our website subscribers. We will put her on the HTW list as this up and coming filly looks to have some talent.

SACHARISTE: Was last seen running at a small track in Ohio but showed up here in the Jerry Hollendorfer barn. She took plenty of action but just could not run down the odds on lone speed; this girl will be another solid single next time out. $$$$$
