HOLLYWOOD PARK

SUBPOENA THE DRESS: Really never got untracked in her last start. She was down on the inside and angled in on the turn. The jock came out for room into the stretch and just got no run out of her. She was claimed by A.C. Avila who can get a horse ready to roll off the claim. This girl could pop at a big price next time out for new connections and the jockey change.

CARACORTADO: His first start since the Preakness back in May was a sprint on the grass. Settled nicely while down on the inside, was taken off the rail on the turn and swung four wide into the stretch. Surged home with the whip turned down and used a hand ride to win going away. This one-time Kentucky Derby hopeful may have found a home sprinting on the grass.

DUBAI YOU XYZ: Was last seen winning at first asking at Santa Anita in March. He came back in this starter allowance, ran a very professional race to win and finished much the best. Look for a repeat win.

FREQUENT FAME: Bumped hard at the break and was pulling her jock out of the saddle as he took a hard hold. She moved forward but had to wait as no room developed. The jock bulled his way between horses to be one of three on the line. Her number was taken down for the bumping, but may have been best in this race and was claimed for 25k by trainer Ted West. Look for her to come back in the perfect spot and get her revenge. $$$$$

FOREST BEAUTY/SUBTLE GREEK: Two first-time starters exiting the same race and both ran big. Subtle Greek broke slow, had to be steadied hard when in tight early and was dead last in this 6½ furlong 25k filly and mare maiden race. She came out leaving the turn and exploded while four wide down the lane to just miss by a half length. Forest Beauty broke sharp from post position 10 but was taken back. She had to steady hard off heels early on the turn and just missed the show dough. These two in the same race would make a nice exacta. We will keep both on our HTW list. $$$$$

NOTHING TO FEAR: Looked to have a good shot in here at almost 14-1 but was squeezed off at the start and last in this 6 furlong turf sprint. She came off the rail on the turn and tried to make a run. Just had too much to do and finished fifth in this 10 horse field. If you see this one come back with a new jock, dip into those big pockets and take a nice shot.

LIFT OUR LUCK: It was the “ping pong” Dave system in this race as Luck was the only first time starter in a maiden claiming race. She looked great on the track and was garnering a lot of late action; she was far back but made a huge late five wide run into the stretch and just won for fun while under a long late hold. Look for this girl to show up in a starter allowance race in her next start and repeat. $$$$$

TAPTAP I’MGONE: Had the misfortune of running into Lift Our Luck in this 40k maiden claimer, a race she would have won on any other day. She ran a bang up second despite trouble while more than six lengths clear of the rest.

GOLDEN GATE FIELDS

UNVARNISHED: Deep closer was let go at 50-1 in his last start, but made a nice little late run and looks ready to pop at boxcars.

MESHUGUNA: Was exiting our HTW list and won going away as much the best. He will stay on our list. Looks like a solid single next time out.
