CHICO D’ORO: Looks to be a great prospect for trainer John Sadler as this Medaglia d’Oro 3yo colt ran his eyeballs out at first asking when chasing the ultra fast Albergatti who ran the 7 furlongs in 1:20.3. Chico was more than eight lengths clear of the rest, he will be a great single next time out albeit at a miniscule price. *****

SMART SPENDING: Trainer Carla Gaines has been bringing in some very live horses from Hastings Park and this Smarty Jones gelding was one of them. And, what a race he ran! While down on the inside with a ton of run he had no place to go and jockey Gomez had to sit and wait. He looked beat but finally found a small opening and surged late for the win in an eye popping performance. We will bet right back and this one looks like he can go long. *****

SHAMINO: Well bred for the grass, this first time starter was going down the hill for trainer John Shirreffs. He chased while down on the inside, was switched out and made a nice four wide move into the stretch. He went between horses and dueled for the lead but tired a little late and had to settle for the show dough. We will follow this one especially if sent long on the grass next time out.

ANDINA: Looked best in this race, but the hot riding Talamo just got in a bad spot and had him shuffled back after looking to get through on the inside. That cost her the race. She rallied, but had to come out for room into the stretch, angled back in, got tight but still finished third losing the place by a half length and a nostril. A bad ride resulting in a horrible trip.

BONITA STAR: Was in from Ireland and looked to have found a real good spot in this soft allowance race going a mile on the grass. If you were logging on to and getting my daily horse selections from the West Coast would have cashed this $47.20 winner. She stormed home from last to first and blew by them at the wire.

WAVEOFAPPLAUSE: Was pulling the jockey out of the saddle in the early going. She got in tight and had to steady hard. Came out for room on the first turn, but the jock still had a hard hold of her. Despite her saddle slipping forward, she got the lead and looked home but could not hold off fast closing Bonita Star. Was clearly second best despite the eventful trip.

DUDA TEN: This filly is on the uptick for trainer Julio Canani, who has been a little quiet of late. She is sitting on the win and the price should be a good one. We will bet next time out and use her first and second in the exotics.

RANDOM LUCK: First time starter was coming out of the 1 post and just did not break sharp. Jockey Pat V had to rush her up, but she had to chase the even money hot chalk. Ran on and finished a solid second. Will be hard to beat next time out with a clean break.

SAFE WORD: First time starter ridden by jockey Arron Gryder who has found his way to the Golden Gate put in a determined run. Won by a head under a real heady ride by Gryder. We will keep an eye on this trainer jockey combo as it could produce some more good winners.

DA NADA: First time starter for trainer Steven Miyadi ran a better than looked race at 10-1. Miyadi horses go much better the second time around. We will be all over this filly next time out and make a double bet with a jockey upgrade. $$$

MONICA CC: Was our single on and rewarded our followers with a nice win at almost 9-1 paying $19.60. This mare loves the 11/16 and if she returns at that same distance we will bet again.
