DEL MAR

FORMAT V

Was back in town after running ok at Churchill Downs. He was coming out of post position 1 in this 6½ furlong sprint and tried to save ground while down on the inside. Had to swing out on the turn and made a big late run to finish third, losing by 1¼. He was claimed by Steve Miyadi who knows where to place them next time out for the win.

PERFECT SET

Broke dead last in this $16k claimer going a flat mile on the synthetic. He came five wide into the stretch, finishing fast to just miss the place by ½ length and the win by 1¼. Was claimed by Robertino Diodoro, a real good up-and-coming trainer. We love this claim and look for the win next time out. $$$$$

BATTLE OF EVERMORE

First time starter for trainer John Sadler ran a much better-than-looked third in this nice 10 horse field of 2yos. He was more than three lengths clear of the rest and will be a solid single next out. $$$$$

BOOKWORM

First time starter for trainer Bob Baffert just was pulling jockey Mike Smith and got caught down on the inside in a very tight spot having to check. He came out into the stretch and ran on nicely. This race will have him set up perfectly for the win next time out.

PASSIONVILLE

We liked this girl on our daily selections and took our shot when let go at 10-1 in the betting. She got in tight when between horses on the second turn and had to check. Had to swing five wide into the stretch, finishing fast to be a clear second. She fits with these here and is sitting on the win.

PERSONAL DIARY

Was in from Churchill Downs for trainer Victoria Oliver. She had this filly ready for the win but just had a horrible trip and still only lost by a dwindling head. No mistakes next time out. $$$
