FORM A POSSE: Had no shot at running down the lone speed in this race but made a very nice late run and was a clear second. He was claimed by Jerry Hollendorfer who retained part ownership. This one will be placed for the win next time out.

PADDY’S MAGIC: Got the big rider switch going from Stra to Rosario and this guy responded with a rousing win by more than five lengths. Keep an eye open for the Stra off angle and look for Paddy’s Magic to move up into a starter allowance race and repeat.

LUCIUS ANTONIUS: This guy took all the early action as he was another who was getting a big jockey switch. His odds eased up and he got off at 5/1 but won like even money. Another to watch on the move up.

GAYEGO: Won the Ancient Title like a horse possessed and this was a great prep for the BC sprint on Saturday Nov. 7. Bet him now!

ART CURRENCY: Was coming back in just six days and gave Mike Mitchell another winner. This guy ran a big time race as he took the early lead and then got passed and looked beat as he had to be steadied off heels nearing the half mile pole. He then came out in the stretch for room and got to the front and somehow held on for the win.

ACHAK: Irish import was trying the tricky 6½ furlong downhill turf course in his first start in the U.S. and ran a big time race when a clear second at better than 14-1. This guy can run and will be very hard to beat next time out. $$$$$

FREEDOM STAR: Just another horse the jockey G Gomez failed to get out of the gate. This guy looked great in this spot and got off at 2-1 but hesitated and was far back and never picked up his feet. It is amazing what a great rider like G Gomez can get away with on some of his rides. This was a complete no effort so give Freedom Star another shot.

MISS HEATHER LEE: Was the only closer in a race with all speed types. She sat last under G Gomez and then made a nice wide move. The great Gomez lost his whip but Heather still managed to get up for the win on her own. Wow!

BELLA BUBBLES: Was close up early but fell back to last. She made a big run on the turn and blew them away down the lane to give trainer Amanda McKaughan another win at the meet. Keep an eye on Amanda as all her horses are live.

NEKO BAY: Ran super off the layoff. He came flying late and won going away. Look for this guy to repeat for trainer John Shirreffs and jockey Mike Smith.

WEST RULER: First time starter won for fun and will go from one good barn to another as John Sadler claimed this girl for 32k from Doug O’Neill.

DATE WITH FATE: Was stuck down on the rail and never really got into the race. Look for this girl to go better next time out for her new connections.

QUARTER GIVEN: Trainer Richard Mandella usually doesn’t have his first time starter cranked up and this guy was let go at the windows at almost 27-1. He made a nice run at the winner in this 7 furlong race but had to settle for the place money. Look for him to go long next time out.
