ALASKA MISS: Peter Miller trained filly was last seen running fifth at Fairplex last September. This filly just blitzed the field in rocketing to the front and breezed to an easy win of almost six lengths while under a tight hold. Looks like a repeater.
LIFT OUR LUCK: Would have won on most days but had the misfortune of meeting up with the above mentioned Alaska Miss and Lift Our Luck was out of luck along with the ice cold Jeff Mullins. She ran on and was a clear second. Looks like a next out winner.
GAB POWER: Just ran a super race off the layoff. Jockey Rosario had this guy way too far back as he sat last in this 10 horse field. Unleashed a big time stretch run and was gaining on the top two with every big stride but came up a length short and settled for the show dough. Will be very hard to beat next time out as this race did him a world of good. Looks like single material. $$$$$.
RIGHT ON RENEE: First time starter for trainer Melody Conlon took plenty of action at the window. Was bumped hard at the start and got off to a slow start. She was next to last in this field of 10 and moved up quick to be in contention while down on the inside. Got out for room down the lane while between horses and made a nice late run to pick up the place money. A big time effort for this first time starter.
CHK CHK BOOM: Peter Miller comebacker got bet like a good thing. Showed good early speed and battled it out until midstretch. Tired late and had to settle for the show dough. A good effort off the layoff.
RUSSIAN RIVER: Was getting a big boost in class by trainer Mike Mitchell off the win. When this mare was put on the grass, she responded with an easy win. This girl is in the best form of her life. Will be able to move up and score the hat trick. $$$$$.
ALL DE VICTORS: Maiden claimer looked very good in the post parade and when the gate opened he really wanted to kick on from his outside post. Was pulling his jock out of the saddle, Pedroza took hold and then got in tight midway on the turn. Had to take up, split horses leaving that turn and again in deep stretch. Flying late in a much better than looked effort. This guy is just sitting on the maiden breaker and the price will be right.
SARAH’S SECRET: Was very good as a 2yo running some figs that were stakes caliber. Came back in this second level allowance to make her 3yo debut and just blitzed them running a stakes caliber race. Look for big things from this filly the rest of the year for trainer Kathy Walsh. $$$$$.
SOUL IN ONE: Was last seen at Emerald Downs last September, but came back here running. With no shot at the runaway winner, she ran good enough to pick up the place money at 18-1. Could pop next time out at a price.
ROM BABA: Was trying the grass for the second time. In his first attempt he never ran a step and was let go this time around at 33-1. Surged late to get up for the win. This one could come back and run big again with this race under his belt. The price will be big again.
SIBERIAN RUSH: First time starter going a flat mile on the grass looked like he was going to make a run. Never got untracked, but horse has more than that race. We will give him another shot next time out at what will be a big price.
ELLE DEHERE: Had a terrible trip this time. Looks to be sitting on the win but needs a patient ride and a clean trip.
